• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Best way to pack

I'd agree, but I don't like starting a fire that I wouldn't want to cook a hot dog or marshmallow over! :roflblack:

Packing the army way

One of everything no rain suit needed. Are you all wimps? You air everything out at nite. Buy new drawers when the old ones stick to the shower walls in the motel!

Seriously you have to be brutal when it comes down to packing out for a trip. Taking only what you need and buying a lot of one time use items daily worked for us. I used to figure one saddle bag per rider on the GW. But the Spyder bags don't seem to be as roomy and wife's purse now takes one bag by itself and you don't even want to suggest she not take it. If you want her to go. Guess there is a trailer in our future!

packing

If its really an issue call your motel ahead of your arrival and fedex your stuff then fedex it back it just takes the what to do I need stress off and makes for a more fun trip for you and the love of your life it also prevents cold shoulder and hot tongue desease which can arise from packing issues along with Itold you so itis. have a great trip. If your going alone disposable razor, toothbrush and clean skivvies for the return home.:doorag:

My wife and I did a 7.5 week trip (on our first Spyder, a 2008 SE5, equipped with 2 GIVI bags) around the US and Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario (San Diego to Florida, up the east coast to Cape Cod, more east to Canada, started going west to Seattle and then home). We packed each one extra top (T-shirts) one pair of socks, shower clogs, one laptop (in carry case), razor, deodorant, etc. All our stuff for the saddle bags was packed in 2 pillow cases, one for each bag. Keep your body clean and wear a clean shirt each day...no one will know how long you have worn your pants. Wash the T-shirts at night in the motel sink, along with your socks. Or if you rather, most motels have washer/dryer. You are a motorcycle (Spyder) rider, not a cager. The people you will see while traveling will never see you again, so don't worry about them. The Spyder riders you will meet don't care about anything except your friendship and comrade. Worry less, live longer.
We also each had a leather jacket, windstopper and FroggTogg rain suit.
