• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. BEST warranty question - transfer of ownership

I have a couple of questions regarding the BEST warranty and transferring it. I'm looking to buy a used Spyder that is covered under a BEST warranty, so here are my questions:

1. I understand it's transferable. Since I'm thinking of buying from a private party, do I have to notify BRP or a dealership of the transfer of ownership?
2. The used machine I'm looking at had some aftermarket shock/sway bar work. Does that void the warranty in any way? I'm assuming those changes would not be covered under the BEST warranty, should those components malfunction.

I may have more questions, but that's a start. Thanks, all!

It is tied to the VIN number. You need to do nothing. It should not void the warranty. If some of those aftermarket parts have issues, then that would not be covered. Also, if the aftermarket parts cause issues, then that would not be covered.

As was said you do not need to do anything BUT I would in fact transfer it on BRP's books.

I called BRP when I bought my used Spyder and told them about it and that I wanted it transfered.
They told me to EMail or fax the proof of sale, proof of ownership (registration) with my name on it, and a copy of the old BEST warrenty sheet if I had it (it has the VIN on the sheet). I had these from the original owner.

2 weeks later I got a new BEST warranty sheet and wallet card with my name on it. It also got me in BRP's database for notices, etc.

I would suggest you transfer it. You should get this back from them with your name on it.

I went to my dealer and they transferred it for me.
If it's the plus warranty that covers services, your dealer will have to call BRP and get them the link to get paid since the plus is not sold any more. I found out you only get 4 services with the plus. Also the dealer decided to charge BRP for two services and I only got one. BRP and I got ripped off
