• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

bike rack/622 trailer

We are in the process of having the trailer hitch and trailer all installed but were thinking about occasionally attaching the bike rack (pedal bikes) to the hitch. More fun to drive the rt than the car and that way we get to have a little exercise as well. Has anyone out there tried this.

By the way, the complete installation quote was $4,100.00. Is this a good/bad? deal? That is hitch, trailer and labor. Also, would like to know if you out there are satisfied with the trailer and whether or not we should have a head's up concerning problems.

Thanks ahead of time.:D

There are a few commercial products out there as well. If you are hard core and want to take your clubs with you on a long trip, this might be just the ticket.

Here are a few other variations and ideas that are out there.

$$$$

One of the brp trailors is designed to hold 2 sets of clubs....here in canada the hitch is $600 the trailor $5000....installation ???? one would thinks the installation should be free for that price...but seeing I wouldn't spend that much I never checked out anything about installation. Are you saying the install is $4000 ???? wow...pretty good pay for about 5 hrs work.:gaah:
Oh.....reread your post....where did you find hitch/trailor/install for $4,100 ?? sounds like a smokin deal.

The only thing I can think of for sure is that the Mel's Monster Garage hitch is a receiver style hitch. You could put that on your spyder and then add a receiver hitch bicycle carrier. Something like this:

or go a completely different route with something like this:

This is where we bought the RT. If you need a name let me know.

I'm going to install my aux fuel cell in the front boot. I'll have just over 4 gal and still have room for some soft stuff. That puts it under the weight limit too. :ohyea: That was the first thing I thought of when I opened up that front lid, ooh aux fuel cell. But then I'm weird like that.

Just be careful. For some reason thoughts of the Ford Pinto sprang into my mind when reading this. :dontknow:

I've sort of been in the Pinto experience (without the explosion part) before with my second bike. My CB750 Honda had an aftermarket 7.5 gal fiberglass tank on it. When it got totaled :gaah: (not my fault) I watched them wheel it past me with the petcocks stuffed up through the bottom and gas flowing down over the engine. :yikes: We had just filled up 10 miles before the accident. The aux tank installed into the Spyder will be a race spec rupture proof cell. Will cost more but it will be safer. :D

Sounds like you have a good plan for it. Best of luck with it.
