There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Best Mod - Capt. Jim's Smooth Spyder(TM) Belt Tensioner

Without question, the first and most important mod to a Spyder is Capt. Jim's Smooth Spyder(TM) Belt Tensioner. Why the Spyder doesn't come with one defies engineering sense. As a aeronautical engineer and helicopter pilot, I can't imagine flying a helicopter with long kevlar belts without a belt tensioner. Just completed 400 miles with the Smooth Spyder and amazed at the silky smooth shifts, lack of vibration, and the elimination of belt slap. Everyone knows vibration is a killer with any machinery. The long-term use of the Smooth Spyder will substantially reduce wear and tear on the motor, transmission, wheel bearings ... AND every component on the bike. This is money well spent in preventative maintenance. A heavy-duty solid piece of engineering. Currently running the belt tension at 180 on the Kriket and working perfectly. Considering dropping it down to 150 whenever we ride two up considering the amount of belt shock when riding fully loaded.

He is still working on the RT version. Waiting on fabricator for the prototype. Was hoping they would be available by Spyderfest.

I just bought my RS-S 2 days ago. I'm loving it so far.

What does the belt tensioner do exactly?
When you take your spyder back for it's first service they might possibly readjust your belt tension to a lower and safer setting, resulting in belt vibration under load or acceleration. The tensioner provides dynamic spring loaded tension to the loose side of the belt to stop the vibration.

I have the RT prototype back from the fabricator. Being that i have a GS-SM5, and don't know anyone with an RT I could use for a tester, I found that if I removed my entire emergency brake assembly I could mount this on mine in the same place as the RT tensioner will mount, which is convenient for me as i will be doing the testing on my own spyder. The install will be a little more labor intensive than the RS/GS install requiring removal of the tupperware and footpeg assembly and drilling two 3/8 mounting holes. Realistically, it will be a month or so before they will be on the market, sorry, not able to make spyderfest this year.

ST version?

Is the ST version going to be any different from the RS? If so, are you planning on making a ST version?
