• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm looking for the best HID LEDs for the lowest cost to provide additional driving lights and fog lights for my 2012 RS. Any recommendations?

I was going to do something like that using cheap leds driving lights like from Pep Boys or Walmart. Let me know if that's is what your looking at?

Do you already have the BRP HID headights? I have seen them on EBAY for some great discounts. If they fit your model, they would be my first suggestion.

I spent bigger money, still got a good deal and had to make them fit our 2014 RTs.

Made a huge improvement over stock.

No just stock OEM headlights. I have been looking at the additional LED lights Reggy has but would like to go all HID LED or even Cree to get the output and stay legal. Just looking for suggestions from those who have gone down that road already. Want to keep costs down but not go cheap.

HID is not LED, two completely different lamp technologies. There are no LED head lamps available for the spyder and the LED driving lamps are for color and looks only, much less light output than the stock halogen lamps.

Now, HID lamps are available for both locations and put out much more and whiter light than the factory halogen lamps. They also use less power doing so.

There are some very nice LED daytime driving lights from TricLED that go on the front edge of the control arms, they are pretty bright for LEDs but still not near the output of HID headlamps.

What JC said.....
i have done HIDs in both the heads and the fogs and it is a HUGE improvement. One of the SpyderLovers vendors is Xenon Depot. That's where I bought mine.

I have eave experimented with LEDs for the fog lights, and I'm underwhelmed. If you want to spend a bit of reading time, I've detailed all of it under Phil's Mods in the My Spyder Mods---

lots to learn, but you'll get there ;)

Thanks Phil, very informative and you are right all part of the learning process. Looks like HID is the way I want to go. I was looking at Reggie's daylight running lights and long distance high power LEDs but will need to look at the HIDs for the driving lights now, still like the daylight running lights (LED) for the A suspension arm.

Thank you for all the great information, everyone.

Scott- Here's a look at Darth's front end. HIDs on the heads, LEDs on the fogs, Reggie's DRLs on the bottom arn.

Below shows the added LED floods lit up (via hitting the high beams on) to light up the sides of the road.
