• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Belt Tension there is an app for that.

I am disappointed that the tension2go app did not work. Thanks to all who tried.

Installed the app DaTuner into my Blackberry and I did get some readings in the high 31 range. So that appears reasonable. It was not easy to do. I don't fully understand the app. It is for folks with musical training and I have none. So a lot of the setting possibilities are a mystery to me. I did have to get the garage quiet, doors closed and radio off. I have not given up on it yet. I think it will work if I figure out the app.
One interesting thing in the app description before I installed it. There was a one sentence that mentioned measuring the tension on a Ducati belt. In the app itself I found no reference to this at all.

I worked for me just have to verify this week with the tech that it read correctly my 526N ~ calculation. It can detect Frequency and you can do the math from that.

Roger, try making a recording from your mic using sound recorder.
Transfer the recording to your PC and take a look with audio freebee software. It could just be the ROM for the tablet you have sucks at recording and the mic is OK.
Might be a user created ROM for your tablet works better and does not "clip" the audio recording. The hardware mic on cheapo tablets is usually not the problem.

I was using a Galaxy Nexus leaned it against the black plastic just to the rear of center of the belt with the mic ~5mm from the belt. All readings were consistent. Maybe the tablet mic was not close enough to the belt or sensitive enough. I know my phone has the clearest voice than any I ever had. That may be the difference. What I am getting is a consistent 23hz which should mean my belt is a little loose. Guess I will have it checked next week to see if it is accurate. 23hz= 526N ~

Had my service done yesterday and the belt tension above was accurate for 1 reading. Remember it is suggested to do 3 as you move the bike 1/3 of a rotation of the tire. My average as measure by the tech was 510N. He also said he does not use 1050N for the 2013's but 400-600 range. He has replaced too many bearings and believes 1050N is too much. I will agree with him until otherwise . So using a good quality phone with this app and the previously mentioned settings will give you a good freq. Square that and multiply X .9442 and you should be pretty close.
