• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Belt tension gage

I had the pleasure to speak with Lamont today for the first time and he had mentioned a tool to me to measure belt tension I order one from Napa and will pick it up tomorrow but did find this you tube see link below

The Krikit is the only way to fly! I carry one in my Spyder and have checked quite a few belts. It's always right on.

Ron.
i wanted to find out about getting a set of wires please let me know the price and any info you would need.
I will probably be looking for some after the holidays

Thanks
Bob

You can always click on my banner ad (Below) or the one located on the Home Page here at Spyderlovers. It gives information on the wire sets and other Spyder items I carry. I highly recommend installing a good set of Iridium spark plugs at the same time (whether you get them from me or not). Be sure to use Thermal Past (not Anti-Seize) on the Spark Plug threads. This is very important. I supply Dielectric Grease and Thermal Paste with my wire and Spark Plug sets. I don't include Thermal Paste if spark plugs are not ordered but you can probalby find it locally.

So which one do we order, still waiting! I'm cranky in the morning!

Book says 450 N (whatever those are) +/- 150 N for a range of 300 to 600. This range may have been prior to BRP changing the spec so it would be good to know what the spec is today. Now if someone would explain what "N" is we would know which one to buy. My guess is the larger of the two.

So 150-300#'s is a newton range of 667.5 newtons to 1,335 newtons so if I am right the large Krictit would be to high a range. Therefore the small one with a range of 30-150#'s is a newton range of 133.5 newtons to 667.5 newtons.

So the small one has the correct range requirements.

I hate doing math before 8:00 am!!

Someone please check my numbers and conversions. I am retired Cop not a math teacher!

That is the current (and correct) spec. The old ones were much higher.

A 20lb variance? thats quite a spread isn't it? I'm still a little confused, which kriket did we decide was the proper size? In plain english please...:dontknow:

The factory spec is plus or minus 33.3%! A 20 pound variance is well withing factory tolerances.

From this site "In physics, the newton (symbol: N) is the SI unit of force, named after Sir Isaac Newton..." Using the conversion calculator at the same site, and rounding to whole numbers, 300 N is 67 lbs, 600 N is 135 lbs. The spec is 450 N (+/- 150 N) which is 101 lbs. Therefore you are correct in suggesting the smaller Krikit, 30 - 150 lbs, is the one we're after. Let the ordering begin!
