• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Belt Position

Do it matter that the belt is not all the way back on the wheel in the grooves? Someone told me that causes faster wear on the belt. The belt grooves are exactly even with the outer part of the rim where the teeth are. SHould I have the dealer move the belt closer to the inside of the wheel?:dontknow:

I would keep it no more than 1/8 of an inch off the rear sprocket flange, but not right against it [flange]

I think that as long as it's fully engage you should be okay...
It's not just a case of moving the belt over to the center of the rear sprocket; you might need to adjust the rear wheel alignment... :yikes: Since this is way beyond my meager capabilities I'll sit in the corner and cry while the folks who know what they're doing can get in here and roll up their sleeves!

The belt should be adjusted to spec. There is a flange on the opposite side on the front sprocket. If the belt runs against the flange on either sprocket, it will wear along the edge, and could come off if the tension is too loose.

It sounds from your description that the belt is properly placed and the Harley guy was a bit wrong. Thanks.:2thumbs:
