• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Because I can't leave anything alone..... ProTaper Sport Bars

I ordered a set of ProTaper 7/8" sport bars and some new grips for the wife's Ryker.

I watched a few videos and looked at some specs. They should work great and look way better than the stock bars.

I will be sure to post some pics when I complete the job this coming week.

Got antsy tonight and put the bars on. They came earlier than expected. Added some Biltwell grips and it's done! Took about an hour.

Yes. All you need to do is mark the new bars once you mock them up, drill a pilot hole and then a hole large enough to accept the nub. That took me about 2 minutes. Not difficult at all. I used a piece of tape on the bars and put some paint on the nub. Then I closed the switch gear housing over the taped area which left some paint where the nub is. Drill it out and you're good to go!

Nice job! Is it more comfortable?

We did a very minor adjustment yesterday after we went riding. My wife says it feels great and she likes it.

My opinion after putting the bike through it's paces: Steering input feels more positive and the bar height makes this set up way more comfortable.

For a whopping $46 (Amazon for bars and grips) and about an hour of work, this seems to be a very good mod.

I'm hoping he gets notification and gets his butt back in here.... lol. The photos appear that it blocks the view, but it could be the angle.

I subscribe to threads that I post.

Shame on him.

His Default Subscription Mode is exactly the same as yours:

Automatic Thread Subscription Mode • Do not subscribe

But that's really just by the by - the OP here hasn't been on the Forum in more than a year, and like the vast majority of Forum users, he doesn't automatically get notifications without logging on to the Forum. So posting in this 'dormant for more than 18 months' thread and expecting an answer is not all that likely to get you any helpful result from the OP; but you COULD click on the username alongside any of his posts and then select from the drop-down list to either send him a PM or an email (if his joining email address is still working) and you might get a response... :dontknow: Just be aware that just like posting in a dormant thread, PM's will only work IF he logs on to the Forum too! Lotsa IF's & might's there, sorry! :banghead:

I have the same handle bars on mine and it doesn't block the view at all. One of the best mods I have done to my Ryker.

Thanks for the info! I ordered them yesterday along with some new mirrors. Looks like the install will happen this weekend.
