• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

And Dave ( you know him as Haze) was struck by a cager at an intersection here. Cager said he didn't see Dave because the sun was in his eyes.:banghead: His bike will probably be totaled by the ins company with a possible bent frame. Dave is ok, minor scrapes. I'm sure we are all saddened a bit when another ryder gets hit. Pix: on Facebook on Battle Born Spyders

So sad to hear that Lew, glad your friend is mostly ok. I was nearly hit Saturday by an SUV that ran a stop sign. I was just able to get my F150 stopped in time. Guy with a cell phone stuck to his ear not paying attention. We have to be super careful these days.

That sucks Lew. Once you get hit by a car on a motorcycle things are never quite the same. I t-boned a car about 2 1/2 years ago who pulled out in front of me. I sustained a severe head laceration (30 stitches) but only had road rash on the rest of my body and a broken toe. I was actually very lucky. I definitely had PTSD when I got back on a bike. It gets better quickly. I am glad to hear Dave came out ok. Hopefully he'll be back up and riding in no time.

I am so glad David is pretty much good to go. Many of us have been down. I've never hit anyone. But I've been down hard twice. It's no fun and, for some, it can be hard to get back on and ride again.

I learned, early on, that you don't want to outride your skill level. If you can't keep up safely... DON'T! Whatever embarrassment you might suffer by being last is nothing compared to an accident. And if those you ride with aren't willing to be flexible for you. Well, you know where I'm going with that.

I know this wasn't Dave's situation. Sometimes there isn't anything you can do. I wish him a quick recovery.

Hello my friends. This is Dave aka Haze.

Sorry to hear about this hope all is good

Saw those pics. Glad you're ok, Dave.

I've been nearly sideswiped twice by people who change lanes without looking over their shoulder at highway speeds. That is why my bike has all the LED lights it can handle.

Hope you find another F3 soon so that you can participate in our group rides/tech sessions !!

Glad to hear you are OK, Haze.

As someone that has walked away from being thrown over my handle bars and into a curb due to a cage I feel what you are going through.

The back of my helmet was cracked and I had the imprint of the curb as a bruise that ran from my neck to my right knee for about 4-5 months and my right hip was still swollen a bit almost a year later.

As soon as it came back from being reframed I just got back on it and started my mods back over again. I wasn't going to let it scare me away from the enjoyment this brings to me.

And I will do the same thing again after this deer strike I had just a couple of nights ago and was able to walk away from it.

You have to learn from the experience but not let it scare you away like I have had to do.

I hope you do the same.

Dave, hope your doing well. You were a great addition to our northeast group to spyder fest back in the day!
Stay safe buddy!
