• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

battery space

coz

since the battery has been moved to the trunk in the 13 's, is the old battery spot in the tail being used for something else, or is it empty?
i wonder about these things.:roflblack: don't ask me why :dontknow:

 That's actually a VERY good question!
For 2013; it was pretty much just empty space. At the time; I wondered if they'd make the left side storage area bigger...
For 2014; they've moved the RT's evaporative canister back there!
They found a use for it! :2thumbs:

that's all very interesting bob

but rt's don't really pertain to me, hence, the post in gs , rs shop talk.:roflblack: i didn't know where an rt battery was in the first place.:roflblack: thank you for your input though.

Interesting..!!

Don't know that they moved the battery on the other models. What would you do with the space if it were there..?? Tough access other than things not needing access...:dontknow:

good spot

for a rear facing rocket launcher:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::joke:

Since all 2013 models are basically the same when you take the outside stuff off, what I found on my ST should apply. It is a nice empty spot to mount accessories. I installed my alarm there. Was going to put the Sena BT dongle there too but I realized they designed it with an on/off switch that they intend for you use every ride. :sour:. By the way the battery and fuse boxes are not in the trunk on 2013s, they are mounted behind the trunk.

interesting

thanks billy. do you access the battery and fuses through the trunk? i can't believe you would have to pull the trunk to change the battery.

Coz,
For 2013 All of the batteries, in ALL of the models were moved; lleaving that spot ripe for a new usage...
It's just that for this year's crop of RTs; it holds the evaporative canister.
The RSes and STs??? :dontknow:

thanks billy. do you access the battery and fuses through the trunk? i can't believe you would have to pull the trunk to change the battery.

There are three access covers in the back of the trunk. Two for the fuse boxes and one for the battery. If you take the access cover off for the battery it is right behind with good access. For the fuse boxes you have to remove the access cover and the fuse box cover is under that. The trunk comes off exactly the same as on my 09.

makes good sense

too bad they didn't do this originally. i suppose it helped the rt also, if the canister is up and away from the engine in the old battery location.
