• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery connections

Just wanted to share another example of what a loose battery connection can cause on these Spyders...After experiencing very hard steering in corners, slow starting and more recently inconsistent heated grips, I did some research on here about DPS issues...As many people had previously shared, it may simply be loose battery connections, and/or corroded connections, so off to the garage I went last night. After accessing the battery, low and behold, the negative connection was slightly loose and corroded...removed battery, cleaned everything, reinstalled, re-tightened, and it immediately started better. Rode 30 miles to work this morning, and found heated grips got hot almost immediately, and steering worked much better again. Problem solved, no parts required and no one got hurt

The steering issue was getting scary as it would intermittently stop assisting in corners and I had a few close calls fighting to get it to turn by surprise.:yikes:

A big thank you to everyone who provides their experiences on here for others to learn from...hope this info can help someone else...You guys rock!

I believe it is BLUEKNIGHT911 that keeps repeating about star washers on the battery connections. Do it. It works. Been doing this on all my vehicle batteries for many years.

Thanks .....

Always good to have the confirmation to our suggestions. BLUEKNIGHT911 star washer is a great help on keeping things tight and the die-electric grease keep corrosion away. Thanks for letting us know what you found....
