There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery Charger Options - Any advice

I saw several recommendations on Spyder Lovers for the Battery Tender. It appears that there are two models...a 6 volt and a 12 volt. Both provide 1.25 amps and are the same price.

Since I'm clueless about much of this detail...which one makes the most sense for the Spyder?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Thanks.

IF U RIDE EVERY MONTH, WHY DO U NEED A BATTERY TENDER??? IN N.Y. WE NEED TENDERS BECAUSE IN SEVERE COLD THE BATTERY DRAINS VOLTAGE. ALL REGISTERED STREET VEHICLES ARE 12 VOLT...4 YOUR INFO. I LIKE THE WATER PROOF BATTERY TENDER , SINCE I PARK OUTSIDE.IT'S SMALLER & COMPACT...

The Spyder is 12 volt. There are several models of Battery Tender. The Tender Plus, Tender Jr., and waterproof model among them. I have both the Battery Tender and Battery Tender Jr. models. I also have a couple of the Accumate units, which are excellent. Their Optimate charger is much the same, with additional features. I may buy one of those for the Spyder for winter storage, but I have to install some Powerlets first. One will need to be unswitched to charge the battery. Much preferable to just plug into the Powerlet, than to have to attach a pigtail and dig it out each time. Learned this from my BMW.

I use 12V Battery Tender Jrs. ... have the provided leads permanently installed... on both bikes and the riding lawn mower.

Get the 12v Battery Tender Plus or Jr. and you'll be fine. Plug it in once a week for an overnight condition, and then in the winter just leave her on it all the time.

Make sure when you install you get down onto the actual battery for the plug - NOT just the connectors under the seat.

I'm in the habit of just pluggin mine in every night - it won't hurt anything.
