• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Banner ad AI, not so smart

So get this, I watched a Culture Club video on YouTube today and now when I go to other sites, ones for software development, I get banner ads for gay vacations. Like...wth?

Look out...!

Someone's been tracking your internet searches???? :roflblack: :roflblack: Mikey has been accused of it but I seriously doubt he been doing that. I think folks are just jerking his chain.

Its all about your cookies. Every time I check out Musicians Friend, the guitar ads start popping up for exactly what I was looking at.

I stay away from the "other" stuff you mentioned. :roflblack::roflblack:

Amazon might be a culprit also. Same thing.

But I question the AI. I watched ONE Culture Club video and I get hit with ads featuring oily hunks flexing in speedos :joke:

If I watch another, I will end up on every beefcake mailing list on the Net:yikes:

I would say that "those" sites are very good at retrieving cookies. Also beware of "malware" or "spyware" getting into your system. That is also a strong possibility.

If you don't want cookies and are tired of being tracked on the internet you need to get DuckDuckGo. It will keep unwanted cookies off your computer. They also have an app for phones and tablets.

Also it causes any problems for you on a certain web page you can turn it off.

I am not sure if that will work in the "YouTube World". They know who I am because I am signed in. I have an account so I can track my likes and subscriptions.

It's the price we pay for free internet. Will be interesting to see what happens now with the end of the net neutrality rules.

Try Googling "Young Russian Brides", and see what happens! :joke::joke::joke:

Be careful with that one. I am guessing you will find hundreds immediately. All of them will need a large cash advance for their needy families. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
