I have been banning IP's of spammers here and I just checked to make sure his IP didn't get banned and the one he registered with was not banned.

I kinda of feel like I must have missed something here. Granted my memory is not what it used to be but in searching it I can't come up with anything Pete published that would have been that offensive. Anyway glad to hear this has all been a tempest in a teapot and that his inability to log on must be a computer or software glitch. I emailed him to let him know.

Well, that was very strange. I haven't been able to access the website for the past two days, but now I can. Thanks to those of you who expressed concern and apologies to Lamont for thinking that he had banned me for some reason.

All's well that ends well I guess. Now I'm going back to read your posts on this thread and try to catch up on others.

I've missed you guys (and gals). I wish I could say I wasn't a little bummed thinking I was banished from the kingdom, but truthfully it felt like I had lost a very important social connection, one that wouldn't be easily replaced.

Okay, that was too serious. What can I say to screw this up and get Ron back to accusing me of being a pink-haired troll again?

No comment one way or the other as to him being banned. But I will say that I have seen a lot of threads on this forum disintegrate with political snipes, personal attacks, etc. I try not to take things personally, but there have been times when I have, and then have not even lurked, much less posted. Just my opinion, but I think that Lamont started this forum as a way for folks to get to know one another, exchange ideas, help each other with technical advice, have some fun, and so on. That threads here so often go downhill - to the point that the purpose of the original thread is all but lost - makes me think sometimes why I even bother. That said, I have made friends here (I hope), both personally and on the forum as well. Maybe it's time for everybody to just take a breath and relax a bit. Smoke a cigar. Have a cocktail. Have some fun. Be a friend. Again, just my opinion.

:agree: I deleted a few posts and at least 1 thread because of Petes comments/complaints about the political or semi-political nature of them, yet he seemed to me to be one of the biggest offenders on here, and he always seemed so negative about everything.
