• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Come-on Ron, Lets get an official up date on the RT sway bar. We have been teased, it's time for an official update!!!!!!:yes::yes:

Patience... :bbq:
We've got some pretty nice riding weather; football OR NASCAR if we don't, and Christmas is still far-enough away that we've got time to let him get everything "Just Right"

I agree, but I was hoping to report positive news. I am still waiting on just 1 component which I had to have custom made. That small item is holding up the entire process. The prototype was supposed to have shipped to me on Friday so it should arrive soon. I'm sure I will be able to approve it as is and production is supposed to happen quickly, so I'm still shooting for shipping the RT Bar by the end of the month.

I admit to being a bit frustrated with the time it has taken to produce (what seems to me) a simple component. But I can't make them so I'm stuck with those who can. Right now I'm doing exactly what everyone else is doing....

Waiting Patiently!

i'm on the list and know he will contact people when he has the information he needs to respond

breath.... in.... out.... in.... out...

Yeah, I'm waiting too but at least I have the prototype bar to enjoy while I am waiting :ohyea:

and, by the way, I did a 200 mi r/t ride up to the mountains today, and got to exercise that bar some more, and yes I like it more all the time. Just waiting for a nice production run bar with some color!

To give you an idea of how these things can go, I signed a contract to have the bushings made on August 29. They told me it would be about 3 weeks for the injection mold to be made, a first run of prototype bushings to be produced and shipped to me.

Last Monday I was told the molds had been finished and that they were in the process of makeing the test bushing and it would ship out to me Friday the 5th.

Yesterday the rep called and said he shipped the prototype bushings out that day and I would probably get them early next week.

There are 4 ways that a person can approach this.

1- Rant and rave and pound the table with the phone
2- Work with it as civilly as possible
3- Take my business elsewhere
4- Give up! :gaah:

Over the years I have tried 3 of the 4. Somehow the 4th option has never appealed to me.

In this case I'm going with choice #2. Though choice #1 might get me short term results I'm looking for the long term relationship. Choice #3 scares me a bit since the company I am working with makes a great product and, from talking to those in the business, provides good customer service for the most part. And there is no guarantee that I would not simply enter the same merry-go-round again and be further down the road.

I feel like this one would be like mashing down on the accelerator in the snow because you're in a hurry, it's wasted energy. Better to ease out slowly with some patience until you can get more traction.

Anyway, the test bushings are on their way. I should have them on the bar early next week. I fully expect that they will be just fine (it's not rocket science!) and we can then get this last piece of the puzzle completed.

 Patience is a virtue that none of us can wait to acquire anyway...
It's rough when you're not the Master of your own ship! :gaah:

Take Your time. I,m just happy with the Fact that my New 2012 RT rides Great with the shocks on #5 and the Only thing needed for me will be the Bar to make my RT complete.
I have the Evo bar and Elka,s on the 09 GS BUT don,t feel the need for the shocks on the RT- The Bar will do it for me!!!nojoke

Don't get too frustrated, Ron. Small, custom jobs are almost always delayed in development, and often in production. It's too bad the company didn't set more realistic goals, but that seems like a small divot when their work is good. Just pretend they told you November 1st, and you're ahead of schedule. We'll all be here when things get worked out.

Patience is a virtue.... virtues are hard to come by and easy to lose!

Really, I'm not worried about losing customers, just that I probably started talking about this one too soon (based on a timeline that has not worked out as planned) and some may be wondering if I am seriously pursuing the project.

Orrrr.... Do you want us to start an absolute barrage of phone calls to them?? :gaah: :dontknow:

Now that sounds like fun! I could list my rep's phone number here and see what happens! I'd say I'd hear from him for sure. What he might say is completely uncharted territory! :yikes: But he might have a few suggestions for me. Like how and where to install the bushings he sent.:yikes::yikes::yikes:

Scotty is right. This is a big deal to you and me but it's small potatos to a company like this. Matter of fact, I've wondered if it weren't for the bad economy, they might not have even considered my relatively small order.

Thanks to everyone for hanging in there with me. I think the final product will be worth the wait!

I don't think that your health insurance carrier; no matter how ggod the coverage, would be willing to pay for the subsequent removal of them...
But talk about real-World testing! :roflblack:

These are bushings... NOT Gromits! And that's all I'm going to say about that!
