• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bad Feeling in the Smokies

As I rolled out for home this morning a bunch of folks were suiting up for a ride. About 5 miles an ambulance flew by, then another, another and two emergency vehicle's. lets pray hard that everyone is okay. Hopefully it wasn't our guys but whoever it is needs prayers.

You have to wonder....

A feeling I always get ryding the roads I do cause of the high motorcycle traffic. Being old and up early that is the best time to ryde cause the young and the restless are late riders but are the most likely to have a mishap. Do have a  in mind when a siren passes me by...

I don't mean to sound "Preachy..."; but here goes....
While we all love riding our bikes (Trikes, motorcycles, Spyders... whatever you want to call them!); not everyone gives their own personal safety the same consideration that most of us do.
When the :cus: hits the fan for them; I feel bad for them, and hope that they heal completely...
But I feel worse for their basic lack of good common sense...
It makes ALL of us seem reckless! :banghead:

(Off my soapbox... Sorry!)

I fully understand what you are saying Bob but two things about that. First there are so many sharp corners up there and a lot of cars/motorcycles misjudge them and as you are entering the corner you get hit by someone coming over the line on exit with little to no time or space to do anything about it. Second was the three ambulances led me to believe some folks may have gotten caught up in a mess not of their making.

That's simple... if the road scares you: don't ride it... nojoke
If you choose to put yourself in harm's way; don't be surprised when Harm shows up to the Party...

I did read on Facebook that one of the ladies attending the Smokies event was in an accident on the Tail of the Dragon yesterday. She is hospitalized but will recover.

That's good to hear. Since there were three ambulances I'm not sure that was what these were for but with that many folks on those roads it's inevitable.
