• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bad experience with BRP customer service today

Dealers

Not to hijack but I wanted to add my 2 cents in about dealers....So far I have been fortunate to have a good dealer. I have to travel 72 miles one way for service but its been worth it. I like the aspect that I can talk to the service tech myself. They seem to go out of their way to accomodate my needs since I travel that distance for service. So far, so good, and I recommend Velocity Powersports in Ladson, SC for your spyder needs.

Well one should never say all!

:lecturef_smilie: Not to start an argument here... but to the OP, where do you base this? I have taken mine to 2 separate dealers, and others around my area have even towed their :spyder2: to other dealers for better workmanship and treatment, all under warranty.
The BRP Rep. Said I could go to any authorized can am dealer. The next two dealers near my home said this: Pompano said they do not do alignments and the next dealer said the alignment would be at my expense. Its true that I could go to any authorized dealer but it does not mean I would receive service.BRP said all its tech's were well trained and competant. Well if you believe that I have a bridge in Broklyn to sell you!

Capt. Fin : some of the people on this forum have only had good experiences with their Spyders and dealers...so they have a very hard time understanding what all the fuss is about over poor/inadequte service....You and I know better from personal experience.....I really feel your pain.....If BRP isn't able to get a better handle on what the BAD DEALERS are doing to the BRP customers eventually it's going to BITE them in the AS*. I'm sorry but the day HONDA comes out with a REVERSE trike, my :ani29: gets a FOR SALE sign...Mike

Fourth time a charm

:chill:
:banghead: I called BRP customer service today about my alignment issue on my new can am RTS. I found out from the Rep. that the south Miami dealer had not yet reported to BRP that the alignment issue had not been resolved or sent the Photos of the excessive tire wear. My can am has been in the shop Three times with alignment issues and the new front tires are worn out at 900 miles. BRP said I may go to any can am dealer for service and gave me the phone numbers for the Davie and Pompano Beach dealers. The Pompano Beach dealer said they do not do alignments. The Davie dealer said that alignment was not convered under the BRP warrenty and that I would be responsable for the cost of the repair even on a new bike. Now I am angry. I am finding that being civil does not work with BRP. I called back and told them about what their dealers had to say and that I intended on contacting a Florida lemon law attorney. They are now assigning a senior Rep. To my case. I am still waiting on the call!
A senior BRP customer service rep. Was assigned to my case and tires and alignments were covered under BRP waranty. I used the same dealer and tech. For all the alignments. The tech. Is now experienced with alignments. Spyder now seems properly aligned and is tracking in a straight líne.

tires

it sound like it about time something got done to the:spyder2: when you spend that kind of money on something you need to be able to ride, now write about it on spyderlover .com .... I love the site ,but I like to ride to............:yes:

Myself and i'm sure everyone else here would probably love to know what the "TECH" who did the alignment found out about how " BAD " yours was.?????????.....Mike........and glad to hear it's fixed....:thumbup::thumbup:

ME TOO

keep us posted on your issue...
i too have had a similar issue, and POWERSPORTS of GREENVILLE (SC) has tried most everything to correct the problem... however, i also was told that BRP does NOT cover this in their warrantee, and i've paid out of my own pocket... if so many of us are having this problem, i would venture to say that this not the riders, but the designers who are at fault... otherwise, i love my SPYD3R.....
my pal BIG BIRD has ZERO issues with uneven tire wear... go figure...

Great news!! Glad everything worked out. I could feel the frustration in your posts. Happy Spydering:yes:

good to hear

I'm glad to hear it's finaly fixed. I had lot's of trouble with my spyder anh went thru h#*l an high water to get it fixed. The only way to get something done is to deal with a senior ser. rep. thats what I had to do. It's a shame to have these kind of troubles for the price we pay for our spyders. could be why so many are for sale!!! my 2 cents worth!!!
