• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bad Day at Black Rock - Anyone had any experiences with the Tow part of their Warranty?

About a couple of weeks ago I was riding my '23 RTL along a highway in a built up area when I felt a tremendous shock through my handlebars and my FOBO TPMS started yelling in my headphones that my left front tire had 0 PSI. I was able to slow down and carefully pull into a Waffle House. I dismounted my Spyder and reached for my phone in the Ramball X Mount and it was no longer there! I went into the restaurant and called my lady friend to fetch my air pump... I went back outside and noticed that my phone was sitting on the right floorboard - YAY! The pump arrived, but the tire did not respond... I called my dealer (who is about 5 miles away) and they said they provided NO towing services. Their service dept recommended a local towing company. They came quickly with a flatbed and dropped off the Spyder at my dealer ($185.00 for the tow). The dealer had a tire and the service charge was $234 for mounting and balancing the new tire.

A couple of days later, I remembered that I still had several months of warranty left and I tried to invoke the tow provision of the warranty (up to $200 for towing). They were not happy and said I should have called first. I asked what difference it would have made? They finally asked me to send the towing invoice and they would 'get back to me'. It has been a week and not a peep from BRP.

Has any one had any experiences with the Tow part of the Warranty?

I called the BRP road service last year. They wanted to tow my RT-L to a Honda dealer, and while waiting for the tow I called that Honda dealer and was told they do NOT work on Spyders, but do on the 4 wheelers. I called the road service back and told them that the dealer does not work on trikes and the person asked ME where I wanted the RT-L towed to... I said isn't that your job to know who works on Spyders? What a waste... as bad as triple A!

I've had one occasion to call BRP for a tow. Fortunately I was still in the metro area so they were able to provide a flatbed tow back to my dealer.

Learned quick to have a list of dealers wherever traveling, it was also helpful in various stops to meet/greet find locals recommendations (roads/food etc.)

I always figured that even if you have a dealer tow, I also have a CAA or AAA membership. I had to get a tow to the dealership after my Ltd did not function properly, called CAA, they showed up in less than 30 minutes, and towed it to my dealership which is 27 miles away. No charge, no fuss.

One good thing that has emerged from the incident is that my left mirror no longer has a slight tremor. It is rock steady. Go figure.

Still have not heard from BRP...
