I was finally able to take my Spyder out for a ryde since injuring my ankle over 1 month ago. I had no idea how it would react after not having been ridden in so long, and was expecting some retaliation or at least complaining. However, I think it was just as happy to be running again as I was to be back out on the road. It performed flawlessly, responding to every command I issued, and never missed a beat.
It was 87 degrees and partly cloudy so the weather was perfect for ryding. My father in law was on his M-109 and we made a big loop that was 196.5 miles long. We covered the distance in 3.5 hours. I filled up when we started, and then had to refill at 135 miles as my low fuel light was on and I was down to 1 bar on the gauge.
I know this may not be very exciting news to many of you, but this has been the longest period of time I have not been able to ryde my Spyder ever since I purchased it in September 2009. My ankle did swell again, but it is not any bigger than it is when I come home from work most days. I will be elevating it and applying ice very soon.
It was an awesome feeling to be piloting my Spyder down the road again, and I am already looking forward to my next outing. I am back! :2thumbs:
