• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Back in the Saddle!

I was finally able to take my Spyder out for a ryde since injuring my ankle over 1 month ago. I had no idea how it would react after not having been ridden in so long, and was expecting some retaliation or at least complaining. However, I think it was just as happy to be running again as I was to be back out on the road. It performed flawlessly, responding to every command I issued, and never missed a beat.

It was 87 degrees and partly cloudy so the weather was perfect for ryding. My father in law was on his M-109 and we made a big loop that was 196.5 miles long. We covered the distance in 3.5 hours. I filled up when we started, and then had to refill at 135 miles as my low fuel light was on and I was down to 1 bar on the gauge.

I know this may not be very exciting news to many of you, but this has been the longest period of time I have not been able to ryde my Spyder ever since I purchased it in September 2009. My ankle did swell again, but it is not any bigger than it is when I come home from work most days. I will be elevating it and applying ice very soon.

It was an awesome feeling to be piloting my Spyder down the road again, and I am already looking forward to my next outing. I am back! :2thumbs:

:2thumbs: Nice day here in Mississauga Ont,but my spyder sits in the garage ready to go but I am in bed with a pulled groin muscle, I hope and pray that in is better by Spyderfest.

I know the feeling of wanting to ryde and not being able to!
It gets REALLY depressing when the weather is good and you can't be on your :spyder2:.

glad to hear you are on the road!

Spydeb: very nice video

Thanks everyone! I iced the ankle some, then we went to dinner. Got home and iced it down some more. It is still swollen, but should be down again in the morning. The doctor said as long as it goes down overnight to not be too concerned about it.

I can tell you to me it has been totally worth it. :2thumbs:

Glad to hear you're back in the saddle again.
There's nothing like it. Even if you're hurting afterwards, you can still sit back with an ice pack and savor the memories. :2thumbs:

Take care, this is just the beginning of another great season of ryding !!!!

I also managed to finally get out after 6 freaking long months of winter, snow, snow and more snow. Took the plunge this am and rode to work. After work went for a 3 hour blast and burnt the carbon out of it, also wnet through a tank of fuel with the additive for the winter. Now it is CRISP N CLEAN, ready for the next adventure, perhaps tomorrow, but that will be it again for a while , more snow and cold coming, scratched the itch for a bit.............:2thumbs:

:2thumbs:

I am very happy to hear that I am not the only one that is finally back on the road. I hardly ever have to worry about snow down here, and am not sure I could handle 5 months of not being able to ryde. I know they make snowmobiles, but that still wouldn't be my Spyder. :D

:congrats: glad to have u back on the road where u belong!

yah, weather channel lied to me and said Friday would be all rain in the PM so i took my car to work. it also said Saturday would be clear (ok, 30% chance) so i rode in to work - but took my rain gear.
leading to my first ever rain ryde, and at night no less.....loved every minute of it!
