• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Back From Dealer . . . Missing Parts?

It's just a brake part don't worry about it!!!! :roflblack: I would take a picture of it and send it to them and tell them a copy is on its way to your lawyer too, maybe they will respond quicker to that Email. Also include a bill for parts, labour and inconvenience to them.

the mechanic was probably texting his girlfriend when he put it back together. didn't like the answers he was getting from her and totally forgot what he was doing! i'd be all over that dealerships owner, just isn't right!:banghead::banghead::banghead:

I sent the photo to Tim at Can Am of Windber. He has ordered the parts for me and I'll go there when they get in . . . I have no interest in wasting another second with the other dealer . . . it isn't worth the hour to get there and the hour to get home . . . If I ever see that dealership again, it will be because I happen to be riding by.

I think that I'd "drop a quarter" on them to BRP... nojoke

Try this one... Email the "Crappy" shop a couple of pics of what they left off of your bike. Tell them that you're taking it to another dealer to have repairs done, and you'll expect them to pay the repair bill for it. Forward that bill to tem once the repairs have been completed.

It worked for me once! It couldn't hurt to give it a shot!

Good approach! I'd cc BRP Customer Care.

Don't " Drop a quarter on them to BRP"

I gave BRP an honest and extensive response to one of their requests for feedback after a service. They sent the complete response to the dealer and badly damaged the relationship that I thought I had with them. My dealer even accused me of costing him his "platinum dealer" status. Keep your mouth shut. The dealer and his "techs" are not going to change or accept responsibility. As my dad would have told me" you're looking up a dead dog's a_ _"

If this is a dealer that's over the mountain in B.... Springs then I can attest that I've had problems with missing parts too... Screws, clasps etc.
I thought it might have been a one off but it sounds like my first time there will be my last.

Winber Pa sounds good to me!
Even if it is a 2 hour ride!

Not making a complaint is enabling them to continue endangering their customers. We don't need this kind of dealer and neither does BRP.

Be thankful for your "once"

As for me, I "dropped a quarter" to BRP and all it did was piss off the dealer when BRP forwarded the entire e-mail to them. It was kind of like pissing in my pants. It gave me a warm feeling but nobody noticed.

Surprised to see posts on this, a year later . . . but since it woke back up, I'll bring you up to date. By the time my jury duty was over, winter had settled in between here and Windber. I really did want to get up there, but there are some mountains I'd need to cross and the elevation made a big difference in the weather. I didn't want to get out there on snowy roads. I ended up ordering the parts myself from BRP and installing them. I got my laser alignment from Lamont and Harvey Clark in January.

I've never been back to that dealership. I did get a call from BRP about the issue and gave them earful. Fortunately for me, there are six dealerships withing a two-hour ride, so I don't have to rely on the one where I bought . . . I now go to the dealer in Hanover PA . . . very good folks, and it is an hour and a half ride to get there . . . guaranteeing me three hours of riding, anytime I need to go there!

?????

Pictures to BRP, nhtsa, bbb, chamber of commerce, dot, and public safety. Leaving brakes inoperative is a crime! Contact a lawyer, as well. Sue for negligence, bad publicity. Become a thorn in their side. Make them own up to this. Jmho, joe

At the very least you might be saving a fellow Spyder ryder some grief from them.

I did report them to BRP . . . and since then, they have gone from just being a dealer to being a "gold" dealer . . . I suspect how many Spyders they sell carries a lot more weight with BRP than poor customer service or shoddy maintenance . . . perhaps I am wrong . . . my experience could have been a fluke . . . a "one of a kind" experience . . . but once leaving brake parts off is once too often for me to ever give them another chance.

Funny how sales trump service, ain't it!

:gaah: :agree: :gaah:
Sales trumping service has always been a problem...

... Until the sales start tanking; due to the lousy service!
