• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Found out what the problem was.. it was the rear bearings went and seize up in the pulley heard BRP lowered their specs for the tension on the belt for reasons of bearing problems had 2 weeks left on my warranty but where I bought it told me seeing I chromed the wheels and did mods it wasn’t covered even though they have a different pulley as a replacement part and they lowered the specs on the tension of the belt but won’t admit they had the specs too high...kind of sucks ...Service after the sale really sucks here...and I have over 35K in my bike between paint....chrome everything down to the fan on the radiator......backup camera.....1200 watt amp ....10” sub in trunk.. IPod touch...Ostridge skin seat....highway bracket all new pegs… juice box...Hindle pipe.....took the grove out of the center of the frount fenders made it smoooth no grove..all reflectors were replaced with LED red lights...scropin alarm.. painted the calipers ceramic racing red.. so no i invested in this but you have no warrenty..das BULLSH&T if anyone has any idea what I can do or who to call it would be nice to know .. was going to buy a new one for the wife but after seeing how SERVICE AFTER THE SALE is here no way I’m spending 25k and get it jammed up my AZZ again..
Thanks

Think they'd have to prove the chrome caused the failure, otherwise, warranty should cover. Call Carlo.

Do you mean 'back breaks' or 'back brakes'....if it's the first, yikes!...that hurts a lot! If it's the latter, well, that's easier to work with!

In no way am I giving you advice. All I am doing is giving you a place to start and a little story....

First... Read this (Link)

Story...

I installed an exhaust (Catalytic converter back), put high performance brakes and discs (Basically 3/4 ton system on a 1/2 ton) and new rims and tires....

Had the drive shaft u joints go bad... Took it in, they denied my warranty.

Long story short... Called my attorney... He laughed... Said watch the show :hun:...

Made one phone call, spewed off some newish law that went into effect, bam... Warranty work completed, even waved my deductible.

In the end I understand that there is a US law that states no warranty can be voided if maintenance needs have been met. No warranty will cover the non factory parts, and unless they can prove in a court of law that the aftermarket part caused the failure, it is covered.

Now.. This said.... If you "Modify" a factory part... The "Modified" part is no longer covered... Example... If you remove the ABS brake unit, modify it to have a front brake and a rear brake on an RS or RT (Old school Handle bar front brakes, foot is the rear) BRP can void the warranty of the entire braking system with full force of the law to back them up.

Remember... read my first few sentences... This is just my understanding of the situation as I experienced three years ago...

I think this went into effect because the manufactures abused the "Spirit" of the original law. And bent it beyond the intent of said law. (I joke here a bit) Like... "Oh sorry Mr Jones, you replaced your oil filter with a FRAM and it is not a recognized part by XYZ motor company. Your engine repair will not be covered by the extended or factory warranty"

Not only that, but many after market parts quality/life, purchased from a well known source have historically exceeded that of the original specs/manufacturer.

***EDIT*** Here you go... Good read =]... (Link)

The modifications can void your warranty and many times it will take more than a simple call to rectify this...meaning, the customer may be right (usually is), but you might need lots of resources to get situations resolved.

The issue isn't always a situation of who's right, but more-so who's got the upper hand. If you have to dump a lot of money into legal services, it might not be worth it, depending on the problem. The dealer always has the upper hand...this is the reason why, with some mods, I have the dealer do it...they have not mentioned that anything I've put on would void the warranty and I doubt they would install anything if it did.
