There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. A polling function would be great for this topic, but I wanted to ask how many of you got the BEST extended warranty for their Spyder when they purchased it. Oddly my dealer did not offer it when I bought our RTS, when I had to pay for the 600m (1000km) service check it floored me.$$$ And I think I figured out why I was not offered it. I flamed the dealer in the BRP purchase survey and my dealer is offering it to me now at a discount price. Is it worth it?

I don't think regular BEST extended warranty covers your service checks. I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

You get a two year warranty with a new purchase and the Best warranty extends it x number of years after your factory one runs out. You don't have to purchase it at the time you bought the bike. You can add it after the sale.

In the past I would never buy an extended warranty. With all of the electronic content on today's vehicles I have changed my tune. My wife bought a Honda Element in 2011 and we went with a bumper to bumper extended warranty of 8 years and 100,000 miles. Remember that you can go extended at any time up till your factory runs out. I just bought a 2012 RTS and am holding off on the extended until I have more miles on it and am 100% sure I will like it and keep it. BillF

Glad I did

I have never bought an extended warranty before the BEST.in 2010.and then was able to benefit from it..broke down in TN..so nice to tell dealer that I had BEST. When tow truck rolled the Spyder off all I paid was the $50 + tax.....Sweeeeeet. Have no idea what that 5 hr repair really cost..but pretty sure it was more than the premium...it gives me peace of mind as I travel and that is PRICELESS....

Have the BEST + / in order to understand all it does requires reading all the fine print on the back of the BEST contract. It is written in shadow print and legal ease but it's worth the effort to decipher and may be worth the additional cost to you. It pays for a portion of a certain number of scheduled services.

I just bought a 2012 RT-S & Brp has a promo going on that adds an additional 1 yr to the existing 2 yr. Also added 2 more yrs to that for a total of 5yr's which is transferable if i decide to sell. On the other hand I had a 09 RS that just had the 2 yr & only had a couple problems which came up while in time & nothing after that.

Do you have to have a dealer do all of the services with the BEST warranty or can you DIY and save all the receipts and documentation?

Hey condorflysu I just talked to my dealer here in Alberta about extended warranty last week. I was told for 1995.00 dollars I would get 4 year bumper to bumper(Spyderpops Skid plate to factory hitch) coverage. I think that is a pretty fair price because these are a bit pricey to have repaired. I was also told to buy it before the year is up as the price is expected to go up.

Everything else is on the BEST contract. Perhaps your dealer would let you read the fine print.

Well, my dealer didn't want to sell me the BEST and priced it so I would buy a different one that I assume they use because they sell more than Can Am products...

Did you buy 'other' or are you looking. If looking........Berts & Toledo, on the front page can most likely fill in the blanks. They both offer BEST.

No, I'm still looking. A while back on here someone said Pittbull would take care of you over the phone for $745 for 3 years of BEST. I'll have to look into it when we return from Maggie Valley.

I spoke to my dealer here in Brampton Ontario and was told Best + bumper to bumper warranty is not available in Canada for the Spyder. I did pay $700.00 Cnd. to extend the regular Best warranty to 5 years.

I paid $750 or there about's for 5 years BEST when I purchased my Spyder. I hope I never have to use it but I got it for peace of mind. Figured in for penny, in for a pound and with all the electronics I wanted to be covered. It does not cover normal service or wear and tear.

Had the extended warranty on my wing and glad I did, needed to use that a couple of times.

I bought the BEST warranty for $750.00, My dealer told me BRP does not offer BEST Plus any more. He called while I was there and he said they told him they were going to honor the ones they had sold and that was it, no more BEST Plus.

Best waranty paid off for me, my 09 gs with about 60 thousand kms needed a front sprocket and main shaft replaced and all i paid was the 1st $50.00 (parts alone came to about $750) When i buy my next Spyder i will definitely invest in another waranty

A question for the dealer. Is the warranty being pushed, BETTER for the customer because it covers more items--OR--does the dealer make a better profit off the warranty that they are pushing. I think I know the answer--but who knows? :roflblack:
