Autotrain Sanford FL to Lorton VA.

There was a posting some weeks ago asking about this.I am sitting on the train writing this posting. I am en route to Nova Scotia meeting up with a group of 8 bikes 3 of which are Spyders.
I booked this one week ago online and got a good deal.$215.00 including the. Spyder which I booked as a motorcycle. however when I got here earlier they charged me an extra 50 bucks as the Spyder cannot go on the motorcycle pallets therefore had to go on as an automobile.
For the above money I get a reserved reclining seat,dinner and breakfast.
Ii am however sitting in the lounge car with a beer doing this posting.:yes::clap:

Hope you have a fun and safe trip. The auto train sure seems like a great way to cut 900 to 1000 miles of interstate driving off a trip to New England or Canada

I have been thinking about taking the auto train fron Sanford so I can go to Bayonne, NJ to get on one of the motorcycle cruises where you can ryde on each a bunch of islands.....

Hi Ivor. Thanks for giving me a "shout" while in Sanford before boarding Auto Train. I'm very envious of your trip. As Jack said above, please keep us posted about all the fun you're having. I might add that Ivor is a tremendous riding partner.

I guess they have the service on that route because a lot of people move to/from Fla to the northeast. I just wish it was available more widely. Like going to the Owners' event in NC last month.

I also would like to hear more about your trip as you proceed.

Jack ,Chris & Doc.promise I will post the trip.Tomorrow after getting off train 180 miles to meet Ken Tompkins on the New Jersey Turnpike.then a similar distance up the New York Thruway to Conneticut to meet Dan Harvey of Country Roads with another Spyder a Goldwing Trike,2 Goldwings ,a Harley and a Kawasaki.From there 9 bikes 10 people will follow Dan Harvey on a 2 week tour of Nova Scotia ending back in Tennessee then onto Florida.

Ivor' like they said above will be looking for pictures,Just make sure to get highway numbers and name of the town's so I can check out on google earth. Also find out if we can ride with two brothers exhaust up there. Be safe an have fun. John & Carol

It's been running for years every day between Sanford (Orlando) and Lorton(Washington DC)
It is the longest Auto train in th world.Takes 500 passengers and believe 150 cars.It is called The Amtrak Auto train.Book it online or with a travel agent.Saves 900 miles of I95.
