• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Audio Question

I have an RT-Limited with the factory bluetooth dongle and Sena headsets. I recently had the dealer install XM radio. When I picked up the bike, there was a connector on the right side of the passenger seat. The installer said he didn't know what it did, but installed it since it was in the kit.

Does anyone know what the function the connector enables?

Also, is anyone aware of a good preamp that could be inserted between the Spyder's audio feed and the bluetooth dongle? I get great volume from my iPhone, which is paired directly to the Sena headset, but the volume from the Spyder's audio sources is too soft...

Thanks!

BRP's installation instructions are normally petty darn good; I'd ask the dealer for them...
And I'd wonder why he wouldn't know what it was, if he had actually read them!

Keep trying

The volume from the XM is adjustable from the buttons under your left thumb. It has nothing to do with a CB radio.

The sena bluetooth module has two audio input levels available. Connected to the factory radio, it needs the one for low level inputs, IE boosted output level. Check the SENA manual and make the change. I think its double press of the center button but its been a while.

The new connection is for the BRP Wired intercom headsets. It was part of the entertainment harness that was necessary for the sat radio install. Since you have the bluetooth system, you will never use that connector.

Yes except that connector is on the left side (not right) under the passenger handgrip.

Did you ever find out what the connector was for ?

XM40 connector when you use the 665 Zumo and the XM radio, traffic and weather. Harness for 660 and 665 are the same. 660 does not have XM, traffic and weather. 665 does and bluetooths directly to the Sena head set. It does not use the entertainment harness or BRP XM radio only. No dongle required.
