• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Attempting To Use iPhone While Riding

All,
We have a 2010 RT-S SE5 with the CB, Zumo 660, XM radio, iPod cable in trunk, and the Can Am am/fm radio. We use the J&M wired headsets. My iPhone is paired with the Zumo 660. If somebody calls me I can hear them, but I can not be heard. I have talked with Dave about purchasing the Sena 20s headsets. What are other options do I have if I want/need to use my iPhone? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Not to be judgmental...

But I get on the bike, to get away from the phone.
Can't you let the phone just record a message, and call them back later? :dontknow:

:agree:UNPLUG & ENJOY. If you need calls that much make frequent stops ,the rest can wait & will. nojokeChange your voice mail message to let whoever know you must be driving. It works for most decent people.

I use the phone & siri all the time while commuting. Sena is the great device. If all your concerned with is pairing with the phone then that's all you need. If you want integration with all the other devices you will need the SMH10 & the cable that finless mentioned.
Good luck.

My guess is, since you can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear you is the cellphone interface cable is connected backwards. When the cable is installed backwards it makes the GPS device microphone hot instead of the headset mic. There are plenty of threads on this topic. Feel free to send me a PM with your number, I can call you back and talk about how to test it.

Please, I prefer that you would concentrate on riding while you are on your Spyder. Do the phone thing while you are stopped. Please.

Cell phone use while riding? No No No :yikes: We do not like it when people in cars are on their cell phones right? So we should do as we say!

Don't let some of these members get you down.....

They are the first ones that play with their radio stations, drink a 32oz soda from their chrome cup holder, look at their GPS, push the button on the side of their helmet to talk to their wife, adjust the windshield, air ride suspension and countless other things that are distractions as well.

It's only ok for them to be distracted, but not you with a hands free phone.....

Once again, the voice of reason. I was trying to figure out how hands free was going to cause a problem. It seems one negative post spawns another, and another, and another...........

 I didn't want to start a public hanging over this... I just mentioned that I prefer to NOT be bothered by distractions while riding. If I'm on the road; there's absolutely nothing that I can do about any information that I would get in a phone call...
Besides; who wants to have Ozzie's "Zombie Stomp" interrupted by a damn phone call?

Getting an emergency phone call that your daughter (in your case, Sonny Boy) is in surgery could be important.

Not really... What could I do while I'm on the road? :dontknow:
I honestly feel as if the World will happily keep spinning; even when I'm not "on the grid".

Well, let me see. You could possibly cut your song short, and head over to the hospital. Those few minutes of listening to your song may mean you get to the hospital just as they are taking their last breath.

I find this a little strange coming from someone who wanted to kill the person who was giving you a hard time about withholding medication (from your loved one) due to your insurance. When you told me that, it certainly didn't seem that-
