• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Whats the concensus for adding the extended warranty and gap insurance? I know cars, but not bikes. Standard warranty is 2 yrs, extended i believe is for an additional 3 more. If i recall dealer wants to charge about 1k for that and that includes road side assistance. Seems like if you get a flat that would be worth it? I'm not sure how much gap insurance costs yet, did not get that far. Anybody know?

I was also thinking of adding the power outlet, fog lights, touring windshield, helmet, gloves, red caliper covers also.... the price keeps going up!

If you plan on keeping it for several years, I think the extended warranty makes good sense. This is first year model, and while ten years in development, the real product testing has now started with us. The complexity of this machine and the cost of replacement parts is very high. Accessories are nice, but the first accessory I added was the three year extended warranty. Roadside assistance is no small consideration for this vehicle either, as AAA is not going to come to your aid.

dltang and I both got the 3 year Best Plus warranty. It gives us a little piece of mind and it included the cost of the first service and three annual checks. Not sure what those annual checks are but it sounds good. :D

One thing we wish was covered some way in the warranty is tire "road hazard" coverage. dltang ran over something that put a small hole in her rear tire. Now the cost of the tire wasn't too bad but they want about that cost again in R & R 'ing the tire. Around $300 total.
