• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How do someone buy a spyder with 600 miles from the dealer... and the 600 mile service wasn't completed?!?!?!?! WTF I dont mind paying for the service, but the original owner bought it with 650 miles. I bought it with 760 miles.

The following needs to be completed:

DPS Recall
Adjust parking brake (very hard to release, I leave it in first now)
Rubbing noise in the front (high pitch rubbing sound)

Adjust clutch

Some other noise while in 2-3 gear.

The DPS should absolutely have been done before you picked it up but the 600 mile service is something that they make money on and I guess that they didn't want to give it away for nothing. You probably should have made that part of your negotiations.

Ummmm... I'm the second owner. I bought it with about 750 miles. It only has 900 miles now. Still wondering why it was sitting on a showroom floor @ 625 miles, needing service.. BTW, it's still under warranty.

I didn't think these dealers were allowed to sell a spyder without the recall being done. That could lead to a serious liability question.:yikes: Sounds to me like the first thing you should do is find another dealer.

See if you can get the BEST warranty first.
I would wonder about a dealer that let a unit be sold without a recall being done, who did you buy it from? I grew up in Oakland County, lived there for a good part of my life.

:wrong: I would have a friendly conversation with the dealer. That will tell you whether or not to continue doing business there.

Most people do not bring :spyder2: in at exactly 600 miles. I can see the previous owner not wanting to spend about $300 on a bike they were trading off or selling. The dealer, however, should have done the service before sending the bike out the door.

I am also surprised the recalls were not done before selling to the customer. I also wonder why the original owner only kept the machine for about 110 miles?

The original owner had 4 other bikes and had this as a novelty (had the spdyer displayed in his house). He also had a large collection of cars. The owner is trustworthy.

Wife made him get rid of some of his toys and the spyder was a steal.

The operative phrase is "Friendly Conversation". I agree with that statement 100%. I've found you get more flies with honey. The DPS was a recall and should not cost you anything (other than the wait). I'd get with my dealer and see if they will kick in the 600 mile service at the same time they're doing the DPS. Just emphasize that you will be a long time customer.

Just my 2 cents.
