• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Are you allowed to take your motorcycle test on a spyder in Florida

The Answer....

Yes and No....
you have to take the Three wheeled motorcycle class. Or take the 2 wheeled class and then you can ride 2 or 3 wheeled cycles. So to sum it up you can take the test on your Spyder But only if you take the 3 Wheeled Class. If you take a 2 wheeled class No you can't test on your Spyder.

As has been said, if you take the Florida three wheel class you can use a Spyder both in the class and the test at the end of the class. That's what my wife did a year and a half ago. However, you'll only get an endorsement for three wheels. If you want a two wheel endorsement you must take a two wheel class.

I came across this thread and wanted to ask for a little clarification. Looking to pick up our first Spyder in the next month or so. This is the first time that I am hearing that there is a separate 3 wheeled course that you can take. That's awesome! I was just looking into getting enrolled and scheduled for my fiancee and I for the standard motorcycle course. I think it would be much more applicable and awesome to instead take the 3 wheeled course.

Does anyone know how they differ as far as pricing, length of course, availability etc? I'm guessing the standard M license 2 wheel courses are more common and more readily available.

I think there are others, but this is the course my wife used. Two days.

My wife just completed her course last weekend here in Jacksonville. It was through Florida State College of Jacksonville. The cost was $200 if you use your own bike or $250 if you use one of theirs. They have two bikes available on a first come basis. There were only three people in the class which was great as new ryders got plenty of instruction. Another husband and I got the chance to do a few laps in one of the turning exercises while the students were on a break. Alfred was a good instructor.
