First question out of every younger rider's mouth is "how fast is it?"...
Which is really the mentality of stupid young kids anyway. BRP was not able or willing to put more power in the Spyder. If they had, they would reach the younger demographic that still thinks top end is everything. That said, if they put in more power and charge more, then it would be out of that age group's price range. The irony.
At 40, I like hanging out with the more mature crowd anyway.
Is it just me ? I mean all the photo's I've seen of people riding spyders, particularly the RT's have all been people like....ME.
Is there another forum for youngsters to post on ?
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
I love the Spyder demographics - I finally feel like I belong. As a sports bike rider also I sometimes find myself riding in a group of squids who literally have grandparents my age. Pretty cool, though, that they'll call to see if we want to join them for a ride and then ask if they can ryde the Spyder that day. They surely don't seem to be embarrassed to be seen on one and the girlfriends love it since it's WAY more comfortable than the passenger seat of a crotch rocket - and they have a trunk to put stuff in!
Most young riders wouldn't be caught dead on a three wheeler, not Macho enough, also the price doesn't help ether. For thousands less you can get a two wheeler that will run circles around the Spyder. I bough my Spyder at age 63 [I'm 65 now] I got it so i can ride every day though the winter. I got tired of parking my two Wheeler's in the bad weather, So i guess you can say i got it for safety reasons. I do take my Son's Busa out every now and then to keep the juices flowing.

30 yrs old / young here...
I'm an expat living on the canary islands and just don't feel like making the motorcycle license in spanish
Plus the Spyder is kind of safer than a 2 wheel vehicle and I appreciate that.
It's also a real head-turner and attention-getter with only 2 Spyder (that I know of) driving here and 1 or 2 on the other islands... has to be that 20.000 EURO (currently 26,599 USD) pricetag... hated that part, but what can you do if you like something
ryde on!
Steve
