• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have one from " Utopia " ......this my 8th or 9th ..... It is the most adjustable and thinnest backrest out there ..... I hafen't found anything that come close ......annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd it's way less than the BRP ..... Mike :thumbup:

I completely agree with Mike. I'm on my 4th Utopia backrest (2007 Kawasaki Nomad, 2012 Victory Vision, 2018 RT and my current 2021 RT). Nothing finer.

Now that you have made your decision +1 more for Utopia. I have had one on both my Royal Stars and my 2012. They are high quality and cost less then most others.

looked at their website looks good to me, thanks for the input

Here's a TIP that isn't on their website ...... You can easily and cheaply add a " lumbar " support if you think you need one .... I have done this on all my backrests ...... Because of the way the backrest swivels changing the angle can be accomplished by tapeing a small wedge to the metal up-right where the bottom of the backrest touches it.... finding what feels best is easy ...... good luck .... Mike :thumbup:

👍 for Utopia. Had one on all of my bikes.
Did try a Showchrome recently until I was able to get the Utopia … no-go for me… just was not as comfortable for me as the Utopia.
Mike’s suggestion for more lumbar support by changing the angle of the backrest pad is absolutely GENIOUS!!!!
I used a black cheap rubber doorstop as a wedge … whittled down to my custom just-right angle. The storage pouch on the backrest hides it.
THANK. YOU. MIKE !!! :yes::ohyea:

Does the Utopia fold down for easier access, or is it fixed?

Yes it folds almost flat into the seat. My wife did have room even with the bag attached, but I usually remove it for her comfort. When we get on she gets on first, folding down the back rest. I can then get on still with backrest folded down, I then pick it up just before sitting. Mike thanks for the idea about lumbar support.

Your very welcome .... Just to clarify .... I used the term " wedge " only because I had a thin piece of wood that was shaped that way ....However any small piece of " anything " in the proper thickness ( to change the angle ) will suffice. ....I taped it because it was easy and you can't see it ...... Mike

Utopia is great - I had one on my Goldwing. I have the OEM BRB one on my Spyder now and like it. It's not too big, fits well and really looks stock.

I like the showchrome 41-168A as it folds down and pushes me 3-4 inches forward so I'm sitting more upright...I don't use the backrest per se....it's more in my lumbar area pushing me forward...it's also got a lil pouch ...usually found for $150
