Are the stock cables long enough when installing short reach bars?

I am getting ready to install the short reach handlebar on the wife's 2023 F3 Limited. It looks pretty straightforward, except for the cables.

Are the stock cables long enough? They seem pretty tight on the stock bars already. Is there a way to provide more slack?

Thanks in advance for the help

Yes they are. You may need to undo a zip tie or two though. On my 2018 F3L I didn't have to do anything other than a straight swap out. Made all the difference in the world for my riding comfort.

I am the perfect guy to answer your question. Just recently, on my wife's 2024 F3T I installed the risers because the bars were on backorder. The bars came in and I was able to install the short reach bars WITH the risers. That combo really made a difference for my 5' tall wife. (I had actually called Lamonster before the combo install to get his approval on the fit) Cables are fairly snug, but not tight. Cables won't fit into lower cable clips, but that is a small price for the radical change in her riding position. While seated normally, she now has a slight arm bend.

As you can see from the previous posts, Ruthless, the answer is yes, the cables are long enough. I even installed a set of Lamonster’s mini apes on mine for extra height (I’m 6’7”) with no issues.

Which bars were taller, the mini apes or the Helibars?

The mini apes were a little taller, troop, but the adjustability of the Helibars made them more comfortable. I also elongated the slot in the Helibars which meant I got a little more height out of them, which made them about the same height as the mini apes, but a bit farther away. It put them a perfect distance away from me due to my 38” chimpanzee arms;)
