Are superclamps or other chocks worth the money in towing?

Just got a droptail trailer and trying to figure out best tie down system for my RT. Come on I need input fast.

Depends on what you are hauling your Spyder on/in. I use a covered trailer, & they would be a waste of money - good straps are all I need.

If you provide more details, you will probably get the answer you need.

I have the super clamps and yes, well worth the money. Not sure anyone that has them are unhappy with them. I'm hauling my 2014 RT in a covered Iron Horse trailer. Drive into the trailer onto the super clamps and your finished.

How far are you going? Freeway? Back roads? Doing it more than once?

Having towed cars for years, straps work fine and hold through all type of situations.

Easy to use and reasonably inexpensive. :thumbup:

I use straps w/ sleeves through the wheels to strap down the Spyder when I go to events that Bob doesn't know I go to. :roflblack:

Tie down

I bought a Auto hauler trailer ratchet wheel tie down strap from Discountramps.com and it works great. I hauled my RT limited about 2000 miles last week and it didn't move. I only set a short 2x4 on the inside of each front wheel - which probably isn't necessary. I am hauling it in an enclosed trailer.

Drop Tail is a brand of trailer.

I had one and i wanted to put superclamps on it but they won't fit, I would not say that unless i knew for sure. Droptail trailers are basically all the same except for some rails

Super clamps are great except that they won't fit on a Drop Tail trailer.
