There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. ARACHNID VEE RUBBER TIRES

gypsy_100, please give me the website were you ordered the Arachnid. I'm assuming you are talking about the H80, not the H68.

Arachnid

I bought one from them also a couple of months ago and it is also sitting in my garage since my Spyder has to be inspected next month and the old Kenda (12,700) won't pass our state inspection as is. Mine is the 35002, unfortunately I guess but I'm going to have to go with it.

I'll be interested to hear details and see how mine performs.

If you don't mind, can you tell me what the tread depth is on your Kenda at 12,700? I've got 6,300 on mine with tread depth of 6mm. I just want to see how far I can go on this tire.

Thanks

Pam

Arachnid

I just emailed VeeRubber and called the Motorcycle Super Store. My question for VeeRubber was specific as to the tire and whether I should have a 35004/80H as opposed to the 35002/68H for my 2010 RT.

My question to the MSS was do I have the correct tire for my Spyder and do they even has the 35004. They think the 35002 is fine since I'm not heavy and don't ride two up very often. They also don't carry the 35004..why, they couldn't tell me since it's obvious that VeeRubber sells them.

Thoughts?

Pam, I'm down to the wear bars in the center. I've been running 29lbs for the last 5,000 miles and my dealer tells me that's too much for that tire (he says 25 is better) and why I still have outside tread and not inside. Makes sense.

But, I feel very lucky to have gotten that many miles out of the tires when I compare mind to what I read here. I'm not hard on tires, obviously.

Will do. Thanks. We're all so used to seeing the Kenda's worn in the center that it's hard to imagine being worn on the edges. Now if only we could even that out...:roflblack: Your 30psi may just do that.
:agree: It might be nice to see a tire worn like that; just for the uniqueness of the experience! :D
We may have to all sit down, and re-write the inflation guides; this is a good start!

Any idea if/when...

So does anyone know if/when VEE Rubber will be coming out with a new compound "FRONT" tires for the 2012's and below using 165/65R14? I saw posts earlier stating that the new compound are out, but all I see is for the 15" tires...
Lamont said that he was working with the MFG, and would be selling them at his store, but nothing recently.
Any news?

den2614 if you read my post #19 you would see that I did not have to order a tire through a retailer. Mine came direct from Vee Rubber as part of a compensation program. Highwayman provided a link to a site where they stock and sell all four varieties: both size fronts, both rears. I think there are other retailers, also, but check the various posts and then ask them who they bought from. Or just order from SpyderComfort.

I just looked at the web site and there was no listing for 15 inch fronts for 2013 and later Spyders.

Did you get the right front tires?
Front for the Vee Rubber Arachnid is V35003 - 165/55r/15.
Rear for the Vee Rubber Arachnid is V35004 - 225/50r/15

Kinda Rear Tire

Just to add into this pot, I just had my 1st annual service done on my 2014 RT-S. My mileage is at 5,900 and the report says my rear tire has 30% treadwear left. I'm also researching the Arachnid.

The Arachnid is a soft tire much like the Kenda. You won't get much better mileage out of it. I have had 3 of them so I speak from experience. It is a nice handling tire like the Kenda but it is soft. If you want long tread life get a car tire. They are cheaper and last much longer.

Thanks for the advice Ann, but I'm part of the crowd who thinks that they recommend MC tires for a reason and I do believe that Safety is the key reason. I do wish and fervently hope that you never have a safety issue, but I'm not willing to take that chance. Maybe I'll change my mind, but for now, it's MC tires as recommended by BRP.

I have over 3 K on my Vee rubber and still look almost new. I know it will out last the Kendas only got around 5800 .

Many choices good luck

I just replaced my rear Kenda on a 2015 rts se6. 7700 miles and was pretty well worn out. Installed an Arachnid from motorcycletiremaniac.com. $135. Delivered no steel sidewall belts. Hope it lasts longer than the Kenda
