There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Apple Car Play download initially failed! NOW Finally available....

Our issues are very similar. Maybe its because both of our 24's are Petrol Blue. My wi-fi problems are just like what everyone else is reporting here. Once in a great while it connects quickly, but most of the time it can take six or seven tries to connect. I often just give up and try again later. I've tried different networks, hotspot, and even moving the machine closer to the router. Nothing seems to make any difference. My saving grace on music listening is that I have the Cardo Spirit HD headsets paired with my iPhone 13 Mini, and I can listen to any music app that I have on the phone, completely ignoring the Media applet. The Cardo also has a built in FM radio that I can listen to.

On my 2023 S2S, I use Samsung Note 20 5G phones, plus 2 Sena 50 S paired to the bike. Runs Google Maps from phone and sends output to both headsets. Also, I can run Audible books to headsets as well as music from Samsung music app. The radio works sent to the helmets as well. The pad next to the tank allows you to flip to the next song or next chapter in audible. Oh yeah, I tried the voice commands and the Sena responded when I used "Call xxx-xx-xxxx". The call showed up on the Spyder screen. Nice.... :)

I can't say anything about the 2024 S2S as it is still at the dealers. I did have issues with the BT dying, WIFI not connecting (outside of the blank screen issues) so I can't comment on the ease of connectivity...

I do have a question on the 2024 S2S - has anyone reported other touch screen issues in terms of sensitivity? I could not get the screen to respond with thin leather gloves on, even while stopped. Ditto when driving, I could not get the screen to respond when wanting to switch from voltage in the middle to DTE? I note the BRP video showed the demo guy using heavy gloves and it responding for that specific voltage to DTE??

If you get a chance, try using your phone's hotspot when you are in an area with few or no other WiFi networks within range and see if it works reliably for you. So far that seems to be a "fix" for me. Also, on the iPhone it only seems to work with the Hotspot feature if I turn on the 'Maximize Compatibility" mode, which I think forces it to only use the 2.4GHz band.

Would be an interesting data point to see if it works for you too.

It does not work with traditional gloves on. Perhaps the demo guy was using gloves that have the material over the tip of your index finger to let touch screens work through them? I may need to order some myself now that you brought this up :)

@jfischer..Yeah perhaps...hmm if you find something, please pm a link to me or post it up in this thread !

NEways...My dealer just called and the new screen is installed and working including BT...We will pick it up tomorrow. I plan on testing the BT connectivity BEFORE I leave the dealership... and the gauge cluster too.

Did any of you guys want details as to what was necessary to code the new cluster to the bike? If so PM me and we will take that off line (for security purposes). I will ask the dealer for those details tomorrow ( they have been fairly responsive and open about the issues fixes and what they have done with BRP to get where we are today).

The Spyder Touch screen only works with "touch screen" gloves and when stopped. When moving you have to use the handlebar controls.

I've figured out how to turn the radio on and off.

Long press the Ride Settings button (the bottom button on the Media Controls Switch on the left handlebar). The radio should stop, and the power button will reappear in the upper right corner of the screen. To resume the radio, either press the power button, or long press the Ride Settings button again.

I hoped that shutting the radio off would make the Media applet work again, but no such luck.

I just wanted to let everyone know I tried this technique to turn on and off the radio, and it worked.
It would have been nice if BRP could have told us this, how to turn on and off the radio.
And as AMKRAT said, and I tested it out myself - the media applet still doesn't work.
Great job AMKRAT for finding this out.

Yes I tried it and it works, did you find it in the owners manual.

I checked the owners manual for how to set up the radio, and the manual did not show how to turn on or off the radio, or how to use it, (scan stations, change stations, preset stations or select preset stations.)

The owners manual is seriously lacking.

Yep, it is seriously lacking! It's like a 3rd grader's attempt to build something, and it still has erroneous info relating to other models that used to offer sport mode. But you can still use BT to play media from your phone, no matter what type. If you are using a headset, you will need to direct the output to it. And of course, the headset should be paired to the bike and NOT to the phone; be careful about the order you connect them....

BRP needs to develop and publish a detailed owner's manual on how to use everything related to the 10.25 screen. The current owners manual only points out what is there, not how to use anything. They need to take a look at Harley Davidson's Infotainment users manual. My TriGlide was loaded with all these same features and the manual answered all my questions.

Can we get this thread back on topic of Apple car play. I keep getting updates for this thread and then go here hoping to hear it is out only to read about unrelated topics ☹️

Yeah, right!

I can just see all the BRP Execs reading this and then :roflblack: roflmao :roflblack:

They really don't 'NEED' to do anything, cos they are making and selling a product that people are still buying! :banghead:

While ever 'those people' or in fact 'any people' continue to THINK that BRP 'NEEDS' to do anything, despite the fact that many of those said people have already purchased a new Spyder and are only now complaining and telling BRP what they 'NEED' to do instead of doing that 'purchase then complain/tell them what they need to do' thing the other way round entirely, then I reckon those people are gonna continue to be sadly disappointed, cos they are basically just :bdh: - and doing it AFTER they've given a wad of their hard earned $$ to BRP/Can Am at that!! :gaah: :banghead:

BRP doesn't NEED to do anything until it's clear that they are losing sales; and losing enough sales to impact their bottom line at that!!
So unless WE STOP BUYING, and start telling &/or showing them the reason that we're NOT buying is the lack of a working ACP interface or whatever the Android version is; &/or the lack of a useful Owner's Manual; &/or whatever else it is that grinds your gears, then they aren't really going to change all that much! :lecturef_smilie:
Why would they?? They're making money as it is, keeping their shareholders happy with their ROI, and they know that changing anything will cost more, and that WILL impact their bottom line - so I reckon that until there's a clear indication that ACP/Android not working &/or the lack of a decent &/or useful Owner's Manual is costing them substantial sales, then they really aren't all that likely to change schmick, are they!! :banghead:

I've already voted in this game, and do it again every time I visit a Can Am outlet, cos I've seen neither a 'good enough' or 'exciting enough' Spyder to tempt me to fork out more of MY hard earned $$ since I purchased my 2013 RT back in 2013, nor one that's running on anything but Kendas, so I haven't helped perpetuate this lack of concern for the 'need to change anything' since 2013 - have you?! :dontknow:

So really, exactly WHO is it that NEEDS to do something?? Cos it clearly ISN'T BRP! :yikes:

Thank you Peter! This is what I have been saying! :chat: Stop giving BRP your money! When they see a change in the bottom line, something may get done. Save your money and make it count! Tom :spyder:

I had every intention of getting a new S2S, but with all the "issues" on the new Spyders, I just continue riding my 2015 RT. I keep hoping Honda will come out with a reverse trike based on the Goldwing.

This is a legit and logical point. However, since this thread is primarily participated in by (and likely intended for) people who have already given BRP their money, repeatedly telling them not to give BRP their money is moot.

I get that it may be annoying for people who are not experiencing these issues firsthand to read, but there’s an easy solution to that. I think we can all agree that it is legit frustrating to have one’s reasonable expectations not be met. If folks can’t share their experiences here to help each other, try to get issues resolved collectively, and yeah, even commiserate about their disappointment in BRP, where can they?
