There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Anyone using Rain/storage covers? Which covers?

Looking for some general thoughts concerning the use of rain covers for the Can-Am. When I was on two wheels I stopped carrying a cover because of the space they required plus I often could pull up under the hotel covered porches or registration carports for the night. However, now that I have a Spyder I don’t see this as a practical option.

So who is using a cover when on trips and if so are you using a full or half cover.

Some of my concern is due to all the electronics on the bike. It’s one thing to get caught riding in the rain but letting it sit in a parking lot overnight or for a day or two soaking up rain concerns me.

Thanks

I use a half cover for travel. More for keeping the little fingers off things than for rain protection most of the time. Great for that early morning dew also. If I am at a location for several days I just roll it up with the normal outside towards the inside and stuff in in the right bag. Last morning I fold it more carefully so it's smaller and fits back in its pouch. It's a Can-Am cover on a RTL.

I don't have a garage (I know...who the heck buys a $20k+ motorcycle and doesn't have a garage???) for my new RTL but I have a Can Am 1/2 cover on order. I'm not concerned w/rain or snow (we don't get a lot of the nasty white stuff down here) but I figure a little bit of protection can't hurt.

Nelson-Rigg Can-Am RS Spyder Half Cover ...when touring
Spyder Sisters - Can Am Spyder Sun Shade... for daily cover at work

I always used a rain cover on the Harley custom built trike when traveling. It was not only to keep the trike fairly dry at night, but also for out of sight and out of mind.

I never put a cover on for long term storage because it is just an invitation for mice and squirrels to move in. Don't have one yet for the Spyder, but plan to get one.

I always travel with a half cover. I keep it in the top box lid with a cargo net I bought from Value Accessories. It is dead space inside the top lid. It does not take up much space and a great place to keep it when you need it with out digging around for it in your Frunk orTrailer.

I use a Nelson-Rigg half cover for overnights on tour and a BRP seat cover if I have to ride in the rain.

I used to use the 1/2 cover, but since I put the “Rack” on the rear top box, it doesn’t fit. I don’t use anything anymore when on a trip. When I’m at home, it’s always garaged.

The rain can have a effect on the trike - at least on some of the modules. I had a left side control module fail due to exposure to rain.

I carry a Guardian Cover. Honestly its over-adequate for the job - great rain protection and excellent winter storage cover. Kinda of bulky as a "daily-drag-it-with-you-cover" but I have storage or it can also double as a lumbar support.

Just out of curiosity, what module did you have fail? I've ridden for hours in some real frog stranglers over almost 65K and other than a turn signal switch that stuck for a bit but cleared up when I worked it repeatedly over a few minutes I've experienced no problems.

I use the BRP half cover on trips, and use the BRP full cover at home.

I carry half cover with me, it does not take up much space.

I have a 2014 RTS-SE6.

We have an Ultraguard full cover when the RTL isn't in the garage. It fits well and snug, and is pretty much waterproof. When we are camping with the 5th wheel toy hauler the garage is used as an extra room and the ramp is used as a back porch. We have a 10 X 10 canopy with attachable walls we set up as a garage, and the Spyder gets "garaged" under the canopy as it's a lot easier to just pull in under the tent than put on the cover. If the weather is supposed to be really nasty, I have put on the Spyder cover in side the canopy for some extra protection.

I always use a half cover when touring, rain or shine. I've found Spyders to be such a curiosity, especially to Chinese tourists, that a half cover is almost a must to keep uninvited guests off of it.

Hi Dave here, I stock and recommend the covers made by BigBike for the CanAM
they look great, protect well and pack well they don't use up much room.

Thanks for all the comments. The members relaying their experience is most appreciated. My two wheeled covers just didn’t work for my F3L. I also had a gift certificate I wanted to use so I went with a half cover.

But, do they make one for the new 2020 RT's?

I'm in the market, because the older full and half covers don't fit well.
