There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Anyone tried Rotating their front directional tires? Worth it?

Anyone had their front directional tires remounted and rotated? Was it worth the cost? Any other thoughts?

As in dismount the tires from the wheels, and then mount each tire on the opposite side, making sure they're still rotating the correct direction?

Yes. It cost me $60 to mount and balance the tires when new. I expect to have to pay a similar amount for the mount and balance.

This post should answer your question especially posts #11 and #17.
Thanks. Did a search before I started but did not find anything. Maybe I need new glasses.

If the alignment and balance are good, you shouldn't need to rotate front tires. If they aren't and the tires show noticeable wear patterns, it's probably too late to save them with a rotation anyway.

Always rotate my tires. I back it out of the shop and rotate them in reverse for about 100 feet, then I put it in 1st and get them started rotating in forward for a while. About a mile of dirt road in 4th gear and it comes to the highway. Then I rotate them faster.

I probably waited too long with this set; just checked my records and I got over 38,000 miles on them.

At 38k, I'd say you've done quite well. I have to assume your question was generated by uneven tire wear. Either by out of balance or alignment issues. If you want the most joy, get your alignment checked and install a set of good quality car tires. I highly recommend the Vredestein Quatrac.

I find the search feature brings up many posts that are not applicable so I end rephrasing the search and culling through the chaff. Definitely, not a great search feature.

Search on the open web with a google search engine, and put a lot of descriptive terms in with comma separation. The open web search will also pull up any posts on this forum if enough of the terms hit. If you don't get a good hit on the forum, you could hit some other forum or group website with some answers. Try the advance search option if you don't get what you need from a general search.

These are the Vred Quatrac 175/55.

Why waste you hard earned money to do that with crap tires. Put on Continental ContiProContact tires, will handle better and last longer for $88.00

I could see changing to these next time. So not having to deal with the unmount/remount rotation.

Some individuals just have a tough time going to a narrower tire, whether front or rear. Some individuals already don't like the way the front tracks with 165's. Guessing 155's might even be a bit quicker steering.

Your Vredesteins are very good tires and the selling dealer should rotate. I was talking about the stock junk tires which are directional also. The Continental ContiProContact tires may be a step up on the Vredesteins, but a giant leap from the stock tires.

The dealership closest to my home that had a very good service department but is no longer in business rotated my front Krapendas at no cost to me to determine what was wrong with the right front tire that would not balance. That did not work so I went to a pair of Federals Lamonster recommended and served well until they aged out.
