• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone run Rotella T6 in a 998 sm5? How many miles before oil change. My riding style varies from moderately aggressive to Sunday drive. 2011 rts.

Thanks

If Rotella T6 meets the API service specifications listed in your operator's guide you can use it. If you use it change your oil according to the service specifications in your operator's guide. You can change it at shorter intervals if you want; it's your money.

I ran Rotella T6 in my past life 2013 STS SM5. Great oil. Changed at 3000 - 4500 miles.

When I bought my 2013 RTL, the previous owner had a Spyder dealership do the maintenance. One of the first things I did was get on the forum here and look for things I should be doing. A repeated recommendation was the T-6 synthetic oil. I changed the oil within the first week to be safe and I noticed much of the transmission noise decreased and shifting improved. Not sure what oil the PO dealership was using...but the T-6 seems to work well. My driving is mostly city and not on a daily basis. I change around 3000 miles (1 years worth of local driving). The oil and filters are plenty cheap enough...

A number of us here on SL, self included, have reported smoother shifting with full synthetic oil, me with both Mobil1 T4 and Amsoil Metric.

The T-6 does and actually has one of the highest ratings for Synthetics used in Spyders .... It's dirt cheap at Walmart and google Shell oil and see about re-bates for this oil .....Mike
