There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Anyone know anything about this jacket?

Looks like the Limited Edition First Owners Group jacket

And if it is, its ok. Would offer much better protection than just a mesh jacket but has no armor inserts. I personally don't like how the colar would rub between my helmet & neck, but thats just me. You can probably find more info if you google Spyder First Owners Group Jacket;)

Check with Bajaron

Looking for a cold weather jacket, and ran across this on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Can-Am-Spyd...905&pid=100015&prg=1006&rk=1&sd=200822154036&

Can't find any info on it. Looking for something a bit warmer than my summer mesh jacket.

Bajaron usually has great deals on great jackets or suits. Other consideration is heated....I have both Bajaron one piece suit and if realllllly cold add my heated tops/bottoms/gloves and snug as a bug in a rug!!!!

That's why I couldn't find any info on it, I didn't know the name! The seller seems to have a bunch of them, and they usually go for around $80. I'll see what I can Google up on it. Thanks!

my opinion

i dont think my take on this is relavent as the coldest it gets here during the day is about 10 degrees celceus which is about 50 f, but as to saftey ive seen so many photos of people riding spyders in runners and shorts (crazy in my opinion ) that i would buy it if you like it.

cheers mick

Looks like summer weight textile. You can get good stuff from Baja Ron. Firstgear with liner and pads will let me ride down to 10 degrees above zero--my current comfort zone limit. It happens during the first of the season rides.

I am also wearing my winter weight stuff now--liners in and mid weight gloves. I use winter weight gloves when it gets a bit colder. Currently running 40's during the day.

I have a similar jacket, also textile and use it as a regular jacket but not for riding. It's pretty thin material with no padding or warmth factor. I agree with some of the above in that First Gear makes some excellent stuff. I have the First Gear One piece coverall with padding and no insulation and use it over warmer clothes when needed. It's water and wind proof and comfortable in many weather conditions except summer in the South! The best BRP jacket is there leather jacket. I love mine, it has vents and a zip out liner and I can wear it all year along with the above coverall but not in the summer in the South!

I have one in a 3XL and rarely wear it. I find that the arms are a little tight on me, especially in the bicep area.

Thanks for all the advice. When I left for work this morning, it was 43F, I wore my leather/mesh jacket with a zip in liner, as well as Under Armour. I stayed pretty warm except for my hands. Wore my leather riding gloves thinking they would block the wind, but it didn't work so well, so I am considering heated grips. My commute is only about 15 minutes, so it's not that bad. I'd like to commute this winter, except on days with snow.

I have one, It blocks the wind well. I wear mine in the winter with a thermal or sweat shirt and it's fine for me. I also wear heated gloves too.

It's a great late spring, summer ,early fall jacket. I wear mine all the time until it gets cold. I think BRP released the first version of this jacket as a promo for earlier Spyder owners in 2008 .:dontknow:

A cheaper alternative would be to get silk glove liners. I've never used heated grips but find having the glove liners on really cold days helpful.

I snowmobile in the winter. My gear, Klim, works at -40 degrees and thru blizzards. When I ride in cool weather on my Spyder/motorcycle I use some or part of my Klim gear. Works fine but isn't as stylish as leathers, etc. ;)

One of the best 'Band for the Buck' cold weather items is the Firstgear Thermo one piece suit. I've sold a ton of these and everyone loves them. They are also waterproof. These, with a good set of gloves or heated grips are good to the mid 20's with just a T-Shirt and street pants underneath.

I've got them at a very good price. You can PM me or email me at [email protected]
