Anyone heard of/tried this Riken tire? RAPTOR HR - 215/60R15

Dad is down to his “need replacement lettering” on his altrimax again so 3000 miles to go. He’s leaving it in Arizona for the summer but wants to replace before he comes home in May. He’ll need it before then, who’s he trying to kid,. 3000 is like 3 weeks for him. He took it to a tire dealer out there to get another altrimax. They are saying install this tire. It’s better and they’ve had really good results. He called the spyder dealer out there and they said they’ve installed a few of them. Sounds like tire dealer and spyder dealer are located on same block. Dad doesnt use the internet much and has used altrimax since 2015 on every tire. Anyway, I just looked it up on tire rack and it does actually have better ratings than the altimax. Anyone ever hear of this tire? It’s also cheaper by $15 than the altrimax. Just curious thought I’d ask.

I did a search and someone in 2021 was asking about this tire in Nevada but somehow it got turned into a Toyo thread and no one commented. Must be a south western USA push?

I would stay with the Altimax. It seems to be a quality tire
and you know the wear and tread life. I have not heard anything about the 'other brand' tire.
My Tip: Stay with the 'Good Thing'. ....... : )

Owe he will stay with altrimax. NO QUESTIONS THERE! I’m just curious. He’s a 78 year old guy that likes it simple with no change. He had the hardest time getting used to the new RT after selling his 2014 with 123000 on it. To many electronics with Bluetooth. He’s still in flip phone age:roflblack: nothing wrong with that!

Just put one on my ‘14 Honda CTX1300 (205/50R17). There are several of us running this tire on that bike. No reported problems. This is my first “dark side” on a m/c, so no first-hand knowledge, but a friend in Alabama whom I have ridden with (spirited riding!) through the mountains of NC/TN/GA/VA was keeping right up with me.

Sort of a Red Delicious to Granny Smith comparison, but apples to apples nonetheless !!!

Not on a Spyder .... I have them on my " 427 Shelby Cobra " ... I'm happy with them .... The reason I bought them was PRICE .... I don't drive the Cobra enough to actually wear the tires out ( even with many Burn outs :roflblack: ). They will be replaced due to AGE .... I would try them on a Spyder ..... waaaaaaaay better than any Kenda IMHO ..... Mike :thumbup: OK dis-regard my post ..... I actually have the ZR model not the HR ...... Mea Culpa ....

^^^^ Wow - just noticed the HR rating myself. My Raptor is a ZR, as well.
