• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone else get a Re-Recall notice?

Just checked the mail and found a letter from BRP, said they was retransmitting the recall notice for the fuel vapor extension and he fuel cap recall. Hect I think I was the 1st to extend the hose long before they admitted a problem.

I got the letter today.
When BRP replaced gas caps the first time around my 2010 was not on the list, my VIN has been run by dealers many times and all recalls were up to date. Guess I will have to rewatch Lamonts video on how to install, I could use a laugh.

Lee, You didn't say what year and model the recall was for, and it's not in your signature. From the info in the response above I'm guess it's another gas cap recall for one of the early Spyder models.

Sorry I have one of the fast 08 GS's

Got one for the fuel cap on my 2011 RSS. I am second owner. The fuel cap is of the new improved variety. Done by the previous owner, I presume. Thank yo , previous owner....

Gaz cap

Just got my fuel cap replacement re-notification.

Didn't get one for the fuel vapor line extension though. Maybe it's because the dealership did my vapor line extension?

3 years ago I got a" gas cap Recall" on my 2012RTS-SE5, and a new cap from BRP. Had dealer replace gas cap on my first spyder.

And nothing on the my current Spyder( 2014RTS-SE6) Deanna

Got mine

I got the notification, again. Did it a long time ago, but nice of them to remind those that didn't.

Funny thing. I was coming out of the county courthouse this morning when a fellow on a 2014 RT stopped to ask directions to the local dealer. Said he had a recall notice for the gas cap.

Just got my recall letter today on the gas cap and the vent hose. Replaced the cap a couple yrs ago when the new ones were sent out, and replaced the hose with a longer one after Mo Lee posted his fix several yrs ago. Also did the canisterectomy at that time. Also have one of those fast '08 GS's.

Gas Cap Recall???

I have an 08 GS, second owner so likely won't get a letter. My cap appears to be the newer type, BUT what is the recommendation on the Vapor canister and hose?? Advice would be appreciated as Dealer says all updates have been performed.
Many thanks in advance!

On the right side under the tupperware is the charcoal cannister, coming from the factory there was a short hose coming out of the top that only turned down a couple of inches. What would happen is you would accidently overfill your fuel tank and the run off would fill the cannister and then when it would get hot the excess fuel would be forced out the short tube. The extension hose BRP installed would get the fuel out under the bike instead of up in the hot engine compartment where any spark could ignite it. Mine, I put a long extension hose and ran it all the way back to the swing arm on the opposite side as the exhaust of course to keep any bleed off from returning vapor and rising back up thru the hot engine compartment.

I got the recall letter this past Thursday for the gas cap. It had already been replaced on mine. I had gotten a letter right after i bought it a year ago. Thanks Mo lee for explaining the vapor hose. I show didn't know what that was about. I didn't get a letter on that recall. I will have to check with dealer to make sure that was done also.
