Anyone done a Cat Delete leaving stock muffler on?

I also did the RLS cat delete and kept the stock muffler. It has a nice sound. I have a post here in DIY (I think) with my step-by-step. I put the baffle in, but may take it out next time I have the bike up in the air, to see if I like that better.

Lamonster delete with the screen baffle, and a highly modified 2Bros muffler behind stage II. I get a tad of overlap on deceleration, bucu power, and 40 mpg. Gonna leave it that way until someone rats me out on the delete. LOL

I've done the Lamonster delete pipe but the Baldwin looks the same but is considerably cheaper. Are they the same?

I can't prove it, but I actually think Paul Baldwin builds the cat delete for Lamonster. Baldwin Ironworks is only about 20 miles away from Lamonster's shop.

I used a RLS Cat Delete stock muffler a year ago and love it and used the baffle so I would not be overly loud

I installed the pipe from eBay without the very restrictive baffle. My F3 has the stock short muffler. The sound is noticeably louder, but not obnoxious, and I notice less heat when stopped at a traffic light. Also a significant weight reduction. The motor is also quicker to rev, and doesn't fall off as sharply above 7000 rpm.

Bought a LaMonster cat delete pipe from a friend who went to a Tri Glide but had never installed the pipe. Wrapped with Titanium heat wrap (included about 15' of the stock header). Thoroughly drilled the baffle and welded it in place as one little sheet metal screw will come loose. Sound is just a bit louder with the stock muffler. With an ECM flash, it pulls even harder above 3500 rpm. Easy install using a ratchet strap around the rear wheel to pull the springs

The OEM secondary muffler on an F3-T or L is a glass packed, double wall unit. It has two internal perforated tubes that dissipate exhaust into the glass pack material. I used the cat delete pipe, with no baffle, into a stock muffler. It is louder such that one can hear the exhaust note over the whirl of the engine. Better, is an Akropovich secondary muffler with the cat delete pipe w/o baffle - a louder exhaust without the harshness of every RLS exhaust I've heard.

That's been my observation also. I think due to the F3S (Not sure about a F3L) smaller secondary muffler ( the can) its a bit louder than the other models when a delete pipe is installed.
My F3S is getting louder with time. In fact I've been riding with other Spyder riders that say they can here my f3s pretty good when I'm in front, and that's running everything stock.
That's been my dilemma when it comes to exhaust. Yes you loose weight, less heat, more sound, gas fumes in my case, revs quicker, slightly more top end speed, loss of a bit of torque in the mid range, and slightly better fuel economy ( if you stay off the throttle) which is hard to do. I believe on the F3S anyway the Baldwin Iron Works delete pipe ( no baffle) & stock secondary muffler is the perfect combination. I actually like the looks of the stock Secondary muffler. To me it fits the spyders lines the best.

We have done dozens of them that way. It’s a great way to get a nicer tone, lose weight, less heat. If you don’t like it, I’ll buy your used pipe if you switch back. We are getting a Canyon, and I want to see if it fits.

Great to hear your getting a Canyon. So far, that is the only "new" one that has tweaked my interest. Unfortunately, for me, we gave up both Spyders in October of 2023 due to health reasons.

I am looking forward to your review on that one. I am guessing you folks are going to like it a lot.

Another person with the Baldwin Ironworks cat delete and stock muffler checking in, I have it wrapped with titanium tape and using the baffle with no plug.

Very happy with it so far.

I run the Baldwin Iron Works pipe without the baffle and the stock muffler.
No issues, louder than stock but not too much. It sounds better imo.

I also run the Baldwin Iron Works Pipe, stock muffler & no baffles. I used JB Weld Muffler Seal on all joints & wrapped from the manifold to the muffler with titanium wrap. It’s just a little louder than stock. I don’t notice any difference in torque and get about 40 MPG.
