Anyone done a Cat Delete leaving stock muffler on?

Has anyone done a cat delete with leaving the stock muffler on? I have seen people doing the delete who change the stock muffler for an aftermarket muffler, but they seem kinda loud. Not looking to drown out my radio, but just wake up the sound of the Spyder - 2022 F3 Ltd, a bit. Is it worth doing it and leaving the stock muffler? Thank you.

I did mine a year ago and love it. I found mine had a little metallic sound, so I wrapped from the base of the exhaust manifold to the muffler with heat wrap. You can buy the wrap at any parts store.

I have done the stock muffler with Cat Delete on my past 2 F3Ts (2016 & 2017). Sounds great and not too loud for me.

:agree: with all above ..... Annnnnnnnnnnnd I added the BAFFLE insert ..... plus the wrap..... Mike

The RLS was delivered last week. Will also be installing and keeping stock muffler. I believe this will be a good combo.

Ditto to all above. Plus, you get the benefit of less heat from the cat and some weight reduction.

Ditto all above, I've done both RLS and Baldwin Cat deletes with stock final exhaust. And I do recommend doing the Titanium Header Heat Wrap, I did mine from the front tuned pipe and the cat delete (skipping the springs area).

On my 2016, I had the lamonster cat delete and stock exhaust. It sounded MUCH better. I upgraded to a 2019 that came with RLS cat delete and RLS Punisher series. It is almost too loud.

I just did it. Pitched the baffle that came with the pipe and used Lamonster's "Can Opener" baffle instead. Not too loud, don't notice any difference in performance but now I don't smell burning rubber when I pull into the garage and the F3 is a few pounds lighter.

I did the delete without changing the stock muffler; since I did not put the baffle in the delete pipe, I get a nice sound out of the trike, but I can still enjoy my stereo.

I've done a cat delete in many cars and have always been happy with the results. When I've used a shop to do a cat delete (some cars required a pro with abilities beyond mine), their work was always done after-hours ("secretly") to avoid the massive fines businesses could face for performing the procedure. Do these penalties also apply to motorcycles and shops just don't worry about getting caught? (or, do customers sign documents claiming "for off-road use only" ?)

First of all, you live in Meadville? I live in Shippenville, neighbor, lol. Yes, did a CAT delete on my 2018 F3 Limited, used Lamonster's S pipe (I did a video on it on my YT channel). Kept my stock exhaust. Tried it for one ride without the baffle and it made my head vibrate on the highway, lol. So put the baffle in. Put the cat back on this past spring when TommyG rode my old Spyder because Mr. Harley guy said it was too loud, lol...actually, after 50,000 miles, it needed a new baffle. I am not going to delete the CAT on my 2023 F3 Limited because I am still sensitive to some loud noises due to my brain bleed last year. Hope our wheels cross paths in the future!

I have the Baldwin Iron Works delete pipe (no stinking baffle) and use the stock secondary muffler.
I have switched back in forth about 10 times, but I have decided I like the delete pipe and muffler the best, and it's staying that way.
I've listened to dang near every sound clip on the interwebs from all of the aftermarket exhaust systems, and I think that what I have sounds as good or better than what I heard.

That Baldwin Iron Works pipe looks like a screaming deal at $79.99. I wish was such an option for the Ryker.

Baldwin Iron Works pipe with their baffle inserted. I did drill a 3/8's" hole in that baffle disc. Using the stock muffler, it has a "tone" you can hear at idle and during operation. Kind of wish I had not drilled that little hole in the baffle but the small increase in sound is livable for me.

I tried the cat delete from Lamonster with his aftermarket muffler but the exhaust fumes were too much for me and my wife. I put the cat back on with the aftermarket muffler and like the sound a lot plus no more exhaust smell. Chris
