• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone disconnect that auto-locking front trunk mechanism?

Hello fellow Ryker riders! Lots of interesting things to browse here...
I just got a 2022 Rally Edition a few weeks ago, and loving it.
One thing I'd be curious if anyone has done, is to disconnect that auto-locking front trunk mechanism. Yeah, the one where the bike needs to be "on" that works sometimes, and sometimes it won't...
I don't need it to lock. Just latch closed and open it when I push on it.
Simple as a fuse? Or do I need to dig in an pull some wires, or remove a solenoid / pin?
Hoping it's a simple "mod" !
Thanks in advance!
Conor

My 2020 did not have that. It was an accessory, BRP part # 219401136.

Look at the locking mechanism and determine what is activated when there is power to the lock.
That should give you a clue as to how to modify it.

Sling-Mods has a manual pushbutton latch with locking key that can be installed. This eliminates the "Key On Problem" in opening the front trunck.

You can remove the side panels and frunk box . There is a wiring harness connected to the trunk lock , disconnect the frunk lock harness and it will be able to open or close anytime , bike on or off it will work manually .

I had a problem with it opening the other day but when I got off the bike and pressed from a different angle it worked fine. You can disconnect as said above!!
