There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Anybody?

Has anyone thought of or done any modifications to the dumb license plate reflector/light on the rear fender?

I am wondering if the relector could be removed, drill some holes or cut out some of the plastic behind the reflector, stick it back on, and let the light shine through, making it a tail/license plate light?

:dontknow:

How about something like this?

KRB1945 nice mod !! Where did you tap in for power for the running light and where did you tap in for power for the brake light ???

KRB1945 when you say your mod is working with the triple play is it safe to assume that you just tapped into the NMN middle brake light wire to power your brake light pucks ?

Let's see som pics of it in action on the Spyder. Nice work! A lot of work...but very nice work.

Rear reflector and License Plate light

The problem is the whole light will have to be redesigned housing and all and incorporate a license plate light too.

We are not sure if enough people want this mod to invest in the R&D, tooling and large mold cost to make such a light?

If there is, let's here from you! :dontknow:

If there is enough of you, then it makes more sence to invest in such a project? It always helps if we know people want such an item in enough numbers to justify the investment to help us decide to pull the trigger on things like this.

I think you'll be surprised that if you come out with a replacement for the license plate/rear light that it's going to be a big hit.
The factory unit is really ugly looking plus the lenses are falling off like crazy. We need to replace the rear reflector and license plate light bulb with your high quality LED's and a slimmer housing and shape.
Want to try again to get a headcount? :2thumbs:
It will be a good project for 2010.

Magic Man,

Count me in for a new concept of the lame stock license/light/reflector mess.

Tail light

Thanks Scotty!

Like I don't have enough on my plate already! LOL!

We have been thinking about possiably doing something like this as Lamonster asked the same questions just last week.

Scotty, as you know from having it off, the reflector is also used as the screw point for the outer cover. Removing it also means loosing your screw point to hold the cover on so yet another hurtle to overcome here. :banghead:

I'm always a sucker for something new--guess you'll have to count me in.

I, too, longed for this. In the end, it was fairly cheap and simple just to add some HyperLites. I really do like the added running and brake light. Several members here have also modified their existing housing to either allow light through for a running light, or to add LEDS beneath the existing reflector. This is an expensive thing to make molds for, and would have to sell big time to pay for the investment.

I just sucked it up and bought the Corbin rear fender. Looks great and gives you a nice led license plate frame.

A few other members have the Corbin fender; if I remember right, they said the fit wasn't that good. How is the fit to the brackets on your spyder? I was thinking of getting the rear fender.
