Once you find out how you've GOT to do it, then
IF you can ever convince yourself to
actually do it, I'd think that at the very least, you'll seriously cringe the very first time you remove the mirrors on a pre-2020 Spyder (many don't/won't/can't ever bring themselves to thump the mirrors hard enough/the right way to do this tho! :lecturef_smilie: ) and you
MUST remove those mirrors to do pretty much
anything on a pre-2020 RT that requires the removal of any of its tupperware! :cus:
And even if you are
ULTRA careful when you
do take the mirrors off, you'll probably bend/break at least one of the three mirror mounts on each mirror waaaaayyyy more often than you'd ever expect -
most break at least one mount maybe 1 out of every 3 mirror removal attempts, or worse, and then your mirrors will fall off pretty much every time you try to ride until that mount/those mounts are replaced; and the OEM replacements aren't cheap; they are becoming harder to get; they are rarely if ever stocked by dealers, so generally, you'll need to stop riding for a few weeks
every bleedin' time you break one of the buggas (or every time the dealer breaks one or more for you, but then 'forgets' to tell you, and then claims innocence cos your mirror doesn't fall off and shatter on the roadway until you're already halfway home, so you hafta either sue ir eat the cost of a new mirror -
AGAIN! :cus
Basically, the OEM Mirror mounts are a right pain, repeatedly, and in the worst possible way... :banghead:
OR you could buy & take maybe 20 minutes to fit a set of Magic Mirror Mounts and then never have any hassles getting your mirrors &/or tupperware off &/or putting it back on ever again; nor are you likely to ever have any 'mirror falling off issues again,
ever again!!

Do the search, watch the videos, and it'll very likely all become a whole lot more clear.
