• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any tips for taming the 'Dragon'?

The Dragon is overrated! Too much hype and children in small cars with noisy exhaust. Give me all the roads around the Dragon. :f_spider:

:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Pretty much what I thought! Yet some seem to thinks it's the most challenging road in the world! :coffee:

I enjoyed the dragon but there are more challenging roads near by, Arkansas has roads just as or more challenging than the Dragon but my new favorite is the road from Prescott to Jerome to Sedona Arizona , rode it 3 weeks ago and i loved it:clap:

:dontknow: Just ride the ride that you're on, and you can enjoy ALL of the roads... :2thumbs:

Besides; the BEST one, is always the one that you're planning to ride next! :D

:agree: I have ridden the dragon 6 years in a row, and will be back again this June 10th to ride it again. Yes, there are roads in the area that I enjoy just as much, but it still doesn't take away the challenge of riding the dragon. The key thing for me is to do it when there is not a lot of traffic so that I can ride it at my own pace and not have any destractions. We will be there 6/10-6/14. Our plan is to do the dragon on thursday before the weekend warriors get there.

Why? Because it was not fun? Too challenging? Not challenging enough?

Bob
It was fun and a little challenging. I was disappointed in the views (lack of). I was not out to set any speed records, just enjoy it for what it was. I rode Tuesday and traffic was light. Still a few kamikaze's but not that bad. Like the mountains, and will go back for other roads like the Rattler, skyway, etc. Guess i'm just getting soft in old age and would rather cruise and enjoy the view. It seems life goes by to fast these days

just a word of caution about The Draggon. Make sure your wheels do not cross the double yellow line. Ask me how I know?? :mad::mad::mad: According to the nice Tennessee Trooper my front wheel went over the yellow line. I asked him just "how far" I went over the yellow line because I was being pretty careful not to do that. He guessed maybe one bike length? One freaking bike length???? Are you kidding me???? :banghead::banghead::banghead: and we were pulling our trailer on The Dragon so I was being extra careful.

I asked if there was any oncoming traffic because I sure did not recall going over the double yellow line? He said no, but since he was sitting there and the photographers were there, he felt he had to come pull me over.

I think he was more interested in learning about the spyder because he was a rider himself with bad knees and knows one day he is coming over to the dark side. Of course I was trying to be nice hoping he was just going to give a warning but noooooooo .... he wrote me a ticket.

He never caught any of the crotch rockets that were running like their hair was on fire while we were sitting there. Can't wait to see how much that little adventure cost.

The Cherohala Skyway was a better road in our opinion. Saw a Harley dump it at a stop sign. We turned around and went back and helped them. No one was hurt.

what seemed to help me......

Was adding some air to the front tires in the Ozark twisties...went to 24-25 lbs cold......it seemed to lean a tad less and stay planted a bit better on my stock 2014 RT Sm6....I don' t know much about these reverse trikes yet but I got the feeling the Baja Ron mod may be in my rides future...I love the challenge of riding twisties and still working that out on 3 wheels......

But I have years to do that hopefully and maybe one day I can say I am now a mediocre rider at best in the twisties..... :-)
