• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

the upgraded rear shock----http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?89968-F3-two-up-shock---had a passenger on since the upgrade?? How did it feel with the passenger??

Trying to decide if I want to go with just the upgrade or go ahead and get the Elka stage 2 rear. I will for sure be riding solo 95% of the time and I weight in at 210#. But it seems to me that post #48 of the above thread shows very little, if any, benefit gained from the Can Am offering?? I know absolutely nothing about the inner workings of shocks. So, anybody got some good reports with passengers on board??

Thanks,

A fix for the shock is a must. I have been waiting on someone to release a cheaper air ride option like the RT has. I spent about an hour on a 15 RT-S and it rode like a dream, when I went back to my F3-S. I was getting rattled around. I am a mechanic and have been discussing with a few of my guys about doing a shock like we would put on some of our vehicles. Possibly a load level shock. Riding 2 up is not near as much fun every speed bump and every dip in the road has left a mark on the beast. If the shock they have out now is any kind of a fix it might be worth going to it even if it is a temporary fix.

As I see it...

If your thinking of doing one or the other best just go for the Elka or Race Tech...

New Shock

I've just had the Can Am upgraded shock put on my 2015 F3S.... I weigh 225 and it's a much much better ride. It's an awesome upgrade.

I changed to the new rear shock for two up riding which is what I use the Spyder for. I weigh about 245 and my sweet wife about 175. I can post that because she does not get on this site. The shock is better but not a cure all. It still sags to much with two on it and needs adjustable preload but it was less expensive than an Elka. It does not bottom out now. It does work great when I ride by myself.

I bought the F3 for two up riding because I do not like the looks of the RT's. We both have two wheelers for single riding. I sold a 13 Goldwing trike to buy it.

I am sure I will be updating to an Elka but for $160 it was worth a try.

yep, I think the 2-up shock is more of a solution for those of us who ride solo. it's great for me, but I think I would have gone for something better if I had a passenger on board.
