Looking for some help.....Has anyone replaced the seat shock and rear trunk door with something other that a Can am product?
Auto Zone take yours and match it up
I used one made by StrongArm Gas charger lift support. Parts master #4423
Mine is a 30 lb gas strut that I bought from a local retailer that makes and sell truck canopies. They also have replacement parts like these for the rear windows etc. I replaced mine because I have an Ultimate seat and the stock strut doesn't hold the seat up.
I found 40 lbs too much and that 30 will lift the seat without having to lift it myself.
Mine is made or distributed in Grand Rapids Mi and the shock has a web site printed on it that says www.suspaparts.com .

Be careful not to get one too strong. I have a 2014 RT Limited. Shortly after purchase I got a Denver Sheepskin fitted sheepskin cover. It had a backrest on it when purchased new from Dealer. (DEMO) With the combination the stock gas strut was not strong enough to raise the seat--so purchased a stronger one and had to push medium pressure on it when lowering the seat. After five years the upper strut attachment on the seat (ABS) broke and I am still trying to figure out how to repair it without spending nearly $900 for a new Comfort BRP seat. Actually a simple plastic bottle works well to prop up when refueling.
